GM makes a good point. But I have to say that there are a hundred and one reasons more why a backer would wish to remain nameless at this stage. Conspiracy theories have never really flicked my switch, except where Lowe was concerned as they all seemed to end up proven for some reason! This time I am prepared to trust MLT. There must be a serious money backer, otherwise KK would be no where near this proposal. I shall remain optimistic, as the MLT factor traditionally requires, and pour a glass of wine. Looking forward to tomorrow evening.

Very good point. But surely the reason the deal could not be completed was due to FL (in)action on Friday and therefore a further points deduction would certainly be unfair?

Pinnacle will take over this Club this week. We are witnessing an attack on the FL for several reasons, but the main one is the issue of minus 10 points. We probably - morally - deserve the deduction. But it appears the FL may not have a legal leg to stand on. MLT is competitive and wants the best for this club - had he not attacked the potential injustice he'd be criticised for rolling over and showing a lack of desire etc etc. I am glad he IS challenging it. Also, KK is a sensitive, highly gifted, soul. Knowing that we avoided promotion due to the 10 point deduction next May rather than his efforts may keep his reputation intact and also him at Saints to finish the job. I predict Pinnacle, MLT, KK and minus 10 points, happy faces all round and a further destabilised Mawhinney (there are many looking for his blood in the FL not just us) this week. Enjoy the last loop of the rollercoaster... Southampton FC has come into life again. It died 14 years ago and became Southampton Leisure Holdings plc without most people realising it. But, despite Mr Lowe's (worst) efforts, it is about to be reborn. ENJOY.

I think we deserve the minus 10 points to be honest. Morally I cannot see how we should avoid it. And it stinks of Lowe underhandedness which as Mawhinney says 'undermines the spirit of the competition'. BUT! If the FL are running scared as their decision is open to legal challenge then they are potentially imposing an illegal penalty. I would also, quite like to see Mawhinney resign for the pain he's given to clubs like Luton. If he loses this battle he may have to. So I am in 2 minds. Going to be interesting this one!

Errrr no. We would be thanking him if he'd sold the club to Pinnacle and delisted the plc last summer as he should have done... but I'm afraid the man's reputation is lower than his name suggests and always will be. He killed Saints. But, MLT will bring it back.

He's a publicity whore. Pinnacle are not on a knife edge Duncan. MLT will take this club over next week. We are just witnessing some FL/consortium brinkmanship.

'Integrity of the competition.' Mawhinney has a point, well 10 of them to be honest! Minus 10 or not MLT will be our next Chairman and TL is a decent bloke! What's more our new manager may be KK!!! I can sleep this weekend. Pinnacle will do it!

Chaps - chill. MLT and Pinnacle WILL own this club next week. Brinkmanship and demonising the FL aside, 10 points deduction is not going to stop them from taking over FFS! Their motives are driven by far greater considerations than 3 wins and a draw next season. Frankly if they are being fickle over a 10 points deduction would we really want them to take over? Come on... it's brinkmanship that provide: a. An excuse to galvanise the fans support. b. An excuse for KK if he fails to promote us immediately (which frankly with the team of kids left from Lowe is unlikely anyway unless he has serious cash to spend). It'll be OK. If Pinnacle and MLT want this enough they'll work around it, if they dont...then do we want them?...(probably! Feel good factor alone is worth the 10 points next season!!)...but hey... there are other buyers circling.

I wonder if? KK has said he'll be manager if the 10 points can be removed. But, MLT has this mystery ex Saints potential manager we'll 'all be happy with' in the background in case FL stick by their guns. Brinkmanship by MLT with FL in trying to keep KK as the front runner? Either way, Saints WILL be taken over by Pinnacle and MLT, no worries. I typed on here a long time ago that I thought we should take the 10 points when Fry went daft about it. Can't see Mawhinney backing down, and frankly, morally, can we really accept that SLH plc had nothing to do with Southampton FC last season? We probably should take the 10 point deduction... unless MLT and the gang have a water tight legal case? Interesting. My prediction, MLT and Pinnacle with KK will be announced by Monday - possibly tonight. But, we'll keep the 10 point deduction. Brinkmanship over the 10 point deduction is unlikely to work against Mawhinney.

Of course it is. Sounds as if the League are in a panic and MLT has a case. That said I hope we can get on with the announcements soon and fight this 10 point battle in due course. The rest of the league wont like us if we win, but if they only knew the pain that SLH plc had put the fans and the Club through over the last 14 years they'd be at least some sympathy.
