  4. We need a manager first. Then £10m I think.
  5. ... anyway...no thanks... I shall not be offering myself as a fan leader for media comment Um ! ...maybe one day when long retired!
  6. I think thats an old report from Steve. I remember him saying something similar a while ago to calm the ship a little and generate some support for the club when it was looking a little shakey on the buyer front. Sort of made sense as a viewpoint if no major buyer had emerged. But, if Steve seriously believes Wotte is the man to unite the club still... frankly he's barking. UNLESS he is suggesting next season is a write off and we should frankly throw in the towel and survive a season in League 1 before rebuilding proper. But, I can't see Wotte actually keeping us in League 1 next season if I'm honest... he simply is that poor. Anyway, looks as if Pinnacle and MLT have already told him to bugger off! I fully concur with his line on consistency, but after we rid ourselves of the plank currently in charge of our uninspired club. Wotte for the record Steve has been arguably as bad as Redknapp for so many many reasons in the grand scheme of things. Um, I can't see Steve supporting Wotte now that MLT and Pinnacle are close to conclusion.

Optimism will awake when MLT is appointed chairman, the backer of Pinacle is announced and a well-respected manager appointed who will start to rebuild the team. So, 2 weeks or so?
  8. True. Sadly true. But in principle we must be looking for some Moyes-like consistency for a change. Its one of the big lessons learnt from the Lowe-years. 6 years should be an aspiration, 4 a minimum.
  9. Is this true Steve? Would you honestly prefer Wotte?
  10. Hcdajfu .... ?
  11. Anders Svensson? Could he now do a job for us?
  12. NP isnt yet a great manager - 19 is right. In 2 seasons of management he has only rescued one team from relegation and promoted another the season after. How can anyone think NP is a good manager based on that? I suppose when he's won the European Cup and Premier League titles 15 or so times he can be regarded as a great manager... still, his starting couple of years in management does seem to be rather better than Sir Alex's thus far! Losing NP - even with the financial restrictions placed upon Lowe last summer - was Lowe's most foolish error. I for one have little doubts that we would not be in League 1 now if NP had been permitted to continue and Lowe had not taken over. Still, at least Lowe will never darken the steps of SMS again and the plc he stood for is well and truly dead. I suspect in 2 years time we'll be saying that was a price worth paying and thanking Barclays Bank for their diligence in removing Lowe for good, sending us to League 1 and wiping out our debts and poisonous plc as a result. NP may have kept us up - but we'd probably still have Lowe around to **** it all up for a few more years of misery. I think in the longer term - painful as it seems now - Lowe's error in not apointing NP was the best thing that happened to this club... as it actually ended up removing Lowe for good! NP thus has 3 honours in football - saving us from relegation once, the promotion of Leicester and removing football and Southampton of its greatest cancer (Lowe) by being sacked by Lowe! oooo the irony 19, the irony!! Well done Nige, top bloke!!
  13. Who does Matt want then? You obviously seem to know who he doesnt...! Arguably easier to ask him who he does!
  14. One more thing about Shearer/Dowie... Season Ticket sales would go bananas!
  15. Errrrr. No thanks Shearer would attract players, provide credibility and comes with Dowie. Now that would be a team made in heaven for me. But, it aint gonna happen IMHO. Problem with Shearer would be that he'd want to go back to Newcastle at some stage. We need a 6 year manager with experience ideally. Whilst Shearer lacks experience his sidekick doesnt. That said, pro's definately outweigh the cons. Shearer and Dowie - dream Saints team!
  16. Hoddle?
  17. It looks like the Army Intelligence Corps badge! Clearly inappropriate for so many reasons given the recent history of this club!
  18. Rupert Lowe was experienced wasnt he 19?
  19. Which implies Nick is not a credible source.
  20. He got close though lol !
  21. OK that's cleared this thread up TL, thank you ... closed?
  22. I agree with that too to be honest... but it's today's story to comment on!
