Actually I wasn't having a go at Surman. I am just wondering why there is so little interest... genuinely. I'd have thought more Clubs in the CCC WOULD have been connected with him to be honest. But I guess it's only early days in the transfer window. What I'd really like to know from those with connections to Drew is would he actually come back if he was asked this summer?

Not much demand for him then from professional football managers. Wonder why?

That's a good call - a supporters club that provides a good social outlet. I suppose the dell Bar has attempted to replicate that with differing degrees of success. Fair comment.

I didnt say Surman couldnt play for us - I said there are probably other players that Pards actually wants above Surman, and frankly I look forward to continuing the rebuild with fresh players who fit in with the managers plans. If Surman is part of Pardews plans so be it. But, I shall not lose any sleep if Surman signs for Forest or a n other.

LOL. No in other words I dont think we need Surman as I have faith for once in my management team to continue to build a squad capable of success. Doesnt sound like crap to me... sounds like contentedness in supporting the manager I rate highly. But hey, if you think our manager and backers have bought crap and want the old team back that's entirely up to you and your opinion. Mine is that Surman isnt needed and Pardew is more likely than you or I to spot someone who is.

I agree with alot of that Phil, but I do think the forum reflects the general sentiment. I do not see the need for the Nick Illingworths anymore to be honest... the times may well change in the future, for certainly we have no need at the moment.

Out of interest Steve, no agenda here, but do you think we need an unofficial supporters club when we have this site? I think it is unnecessary and outdated. Forums like this certainly provide a more democratic and honest view of fan opinion. I think the Trust has no role to play anymore.

I'm sorry but if he was worth getting back i'm sure Pards would be falling over himself to get him... but he isnt. He was part of a failed squad, the majority of whom we have thankfully now released. I dont think we need him to get out of this League and we certainly wont need him in the CCC where he was OK but no more. Also, he has failed in the Premiership where we hope to be in 2-3 seasons so why buy a player who could be baggage? Why do we need him? Frankly there's better out there for Pardew to invest in IMHO. We dont need has beens... though if Theo wanted to make a comeback or Crouchie or Gareth Bale I'd maybe think again!

OK - I can understand that Drew is a Saints supporter and popular, but when we can attract and afford better why would we want him back?

Nice try Gecko - but too busy IMHO, especially when the badge is produced smaller (see people using it as avatars above) , it just doesnt look Saints. Also, not sure about the United Nations reef behind it. I can see where you've amalgamated it all from over the years but I think it's too busy. At the end of the day the crest has evolved as we've dropped the crappy bits over the years... no need to bring them back now. I like the simplicity of the 125years crest as it stands... it's Saints.

No chance Surman is coming back...I'd be gobsmacked! Anyway I can't help but think we could attract BETTER players if I am being honest.

One of the few during the final Low(e) year to really try and deliver. One of the few true professionals at this Club. Sad to see him go.

The more I look at the released list the more I smile to myself and think thank goodness that Lowe's youth experiment is finally over... We're buying more experienced pros! We are so on the way up!
