I'm an unemployed arse and have the next few months off....Perfect!! Some all-nighters on the cards, and most definately looking forward to it.

They were playing for time after 5 minutes, quite unbelivable. Both penaly shouts were nailed on, I can't believe ours wasn't given, I suppose the linesman was on the wrong side. They were niggly and defensive, the South American way, and they weren't interested at all in playing any football. Overall 2 points dropped but a great Saints performance 1st half and i'm satisfied.

Their Government will be dissolved on December 7th and a General Election called for early January. Pretty much to be expected.

I think it's safe to say that the idea of the BBC being a biased left wing organisation has been blown out of the water, not exactly suprising when the only "evidence" is one TV programme. It is also quite apparant that only those with far right views see it as biased, as they are so far right they can't see the centre ground. Time to close the thread I reckon mods...

I think the long, short and simple of it is that we would stand to lose more by not helping them and seeing their banking sector go to the wall, then the expenditure we are using to help them. We probably owe it to them anyway for all those potatoes.

I wouldn't say i'm a Royalist or a Republican, I don't have much of an opinion on it and I care little for a wedding that quite frankly is already annoying the hell out of me with its 24/7 coverage and comments by all the hangers on.

Just under 2.5 billion of those don't have to put up with them in their own countries. It's a great novelty for them, novelty being the optimum word. Unfortunately, novelty soon wears off.

We were absolutely no angels whatsoever, you only have to see the example you have provided, as well as our escapades in Ireland, to understand that. One of the National Curriculum's biggest errors in History is its near enough complete ignorance towards these types of situations. We do have a tendancy in this country to only highlight the good that we have done. While Churchill did an admirable job in WW2, his treatment towards the Irish in a similar period was far from rosy. You only have to see his suggestion to name a ship HMS Oliver Cromwell to see his thoughts on that matter. I'm not one of these people who see this country as all seeing and all knowing. Does this mean I think we would have been better off in the present day had the Nazi's won WW2? Absolutely not. Comparing one crusade to another and asking which is worse is pointless as the contexts for every situation are totally different.

You're absolutely right Dune, we would have infact been better off had the Nazi's won WW2. I'm sure your hero Churchill would agree. Cue you denying you ever said this....
