  1. The achievement of keeping Club like ours in the Premier League when there has been no financial input and no visible presence or support from the owners is remarkable and Ralph deserves credit, so do the much maligned players. Other Clubs have millions or billions poured in to them, we have been the poor relation and yet we have survived. Take heart we are in a new and better era. Enjoy the season and give everyone some appreciation!
  2. There isn't a manager in the country that gets on with all his players. Fergie fell out with loads of them, the alternative is to give in to 'player power' which often happens and ends in tears. Guessing who likes who is a mugs game because there is no way we can tell and anyway it can change in a week
  3. How can they estimate all this before anyone knows what transfers are going to be made? Ignore it!
  4. It isn't that he fell out of favour, he fell out of form and went missing for long spells, quite anonymous several matches, we can't afford that.
  5. I hope you are right, we need better, younger and fitter.
  6. Age 30, dodgy knees, no thanks. We need to build for the future.
  7. It would be a backward step. We need a young hopeful up front with a bit of dash to stir us up and unsettle defences.
  8. Thank goodness you've nothing to do with running our team
  9. Yes, we want someone to keep the ball out of the net and Gavin looks hopeful, but who is going to put the ball in the net at other end--that is an even bigger problem in my mind.
  10. Forster suffered years of abuse on this forum 'flat footed lump' and so on, but now most think he was the better keeper of the two. We will miss him unless we get someone who can control the area and boss his defence, that's what is missing and Macca won't provide it.
  11. If he goes the players have to start all over again are they capable of changing style and method? and a new manager is sure to be an unknown, feeling his way, because that's all we will attract, the managerial equivalent of someone like Lyanco. There's a lot to be said for the devil we know if he's given a forward who can put the ball in the net
  12. Under performing in most matches and over rated, hopeful start useless end. We can do better (don't know where)
  13. The present squad was so close to top ten, even up to last Saturday a win would have put us 9th. A lot of focus has been on defensive errors and Romeo losing form or energy but my comment is --when did a forward last score a goal? That's the critical thing, no one up front to put the ball in the net
  14. We get more goals from the back than the front, I know a goal is a goal no matter where it comes from, but that is sort of weird
  15. I thought Diallo was going to cover or replace him but he seems to have disappeared. Sorry to say Romeo's time is coming to an end, when he is off, the whole team [s off.
  16. How can a game mean nothing? A win and we would have been 9th not 13th. That matters. We were negative, back passing square passing no urgency, looking lazy, dead boring football, lifeless. Absolutely awful viewing, sorry for the fans who travelled.
  17. I don't expect any big signing and they are often a disappointment anyway. If we can pick up two youngsters of the quality of Lyanco, Livramento or Bojra I will be happy. The recruitment has been excellent recently. I would love to see a confident young goaly controlling the box and inspiring defence and fans. We could head for a Euro place next season
  18. spot on
  19. Its taken a long time to get the last laugh but we can enjoy it right now
  20. Strongly agree with that analysis
  21. Yes, I was there, last minute of extra time. I thought it would destroy the rest of the season, it destroyed me, but if I remember correctly we won almost every remaining match and ended our highest ever--runners up in div 1 so I stopped feeling so bad about it.
  22. It's quite obvious there is a mental health issue of some sort. A lot of top people retire and lose the fame and the adrenalin, the glamour and the publicity and seek new ways of rediscovering it. It began before Marcus took over. Remember how he tried to get that penniless guy from North London to take us over and him him Chairman? It is really sad
  23. I don't like many of the rich fat cats but I do like Man City, they play great attacking football with style and they don't pinch our players, have they taken any since Channon? And he came back before long. Liverpool are my chief enemy, they wrecked us when we were doing well
  24. I wore a 'Le God' shirt and now i wonder if he really came to believe he can do no wrong.
