Is it more cost effective to keep the hot water 'on' constantly or only turn it on when needed. I have had differing answers to this question so if there are any plumbers out there................

Today - had car MOT'd, cost a grand so went to pub for lunch and drinkies to commiserate Tomorrow - flower stuff for wedding, clothes shopping with youngest step child, drinkies Sunday - drive to Windsor, find hotel, go on the Windsor Wheel (as advised by Hatch) then chill in hotel. Monday - Windsor Races, lots of champagne and food then chill in hotel before driving back on Tuesday morning
