  1. He hasn't gone and predicted the result in a game of football again, has he? The bastard
  2. Now all the knee-jerking appears to have finished, is it ok to say that this is a much improved performance now and that there is reason for encouragement? Or should I just post something about how this is all Guly's fault?
  3. Losing 3-2, le Tiss blazing over from 3 yards. Not a favourite memory, but a memory nonetheless. Remember McClair scoring for them, Rideout for us? Pretty sure it was tipping down as well...
  4. Reporter - the question everyone wants to know the answer to, why did you sack NA when things have been going relatively well recently? NC - ultimately I don't think NA was the man to take this club forward. I think MP is, and I took this opportunity to hire him. In a nutshell. Wilfully ignoring the fact that people I know are going to give the new appointment time rather than scoring now that it is wrong doesn't prove your point. I just happen to know people that aren't emotional and reactionary
  5. None, they're giving it time. Everyone I know supports the Saints and accepts that they have no control in the events at the club, and so they're intent on getting behind whoever is on charge and whoever happens to pull on the shirt. You?
  6. 95% of the fan base (at least) don't like the way it was handled. If 95% of the fan base are against the decision itself then we will see tomorrow night. My gut feeling is that more than 5% of the fan base are going to give the chairman and the new manager time to justify the decision, whilst also supporting the team no matter what
  7. Who? Also - what?
  8. What is to explain, though? His actions were brutally honest. I can deduce that he felt a change was in the best interests of the club, and that he thinks the guy he has hired is an improvement on where we were. I will love NA forever, but I don't need an conference with NC to know his motivation behind his decisions
  9. Honestly?
  10. He honestly thought NA wasn't good enough, made clear by his decision to get rid of him. He honestly thinks Pochettino is good enough, made clear by the fact he's hired him. He might have handled it better with NA on a personal level, but his relationship with one man doesn't demand a national press conference. I can't where he might have been dishonest so far
  11. Was the bit on the website about making a change with an eye on the future (paraphrasing) not him explaining his decision? Given that he's not about to get on Oprah's sofa and give a heartfelt interview, what else is anyone expecting?
  12. Any idea how long we've got to put up with the disrespectful misspellings of his name? How long does it take for faux outrage to die out, exactly?
  13. I did bump in to him and ask him how he was doing. He kicked me in the shins and called my dog a ***t. Behind the scenes and off camera, he was a really nasty piece of work. No, really
  14. I'd also hazard a small wager that all these "I'm off" drama queenz won't actually go anywhere, they'll just be the ones that start the "Pochettino out" threads the next time we go 1-0 down
  15. I read that as a Russian monkey. Now that's a backroom change I could get behind
  16. Don't know why it's not possible to be upset about yesterday's events whilst still supporting Southampton FC. I'd have NA at my house absolutely any time and bar the $kates I wish him luck no matter what he does, but I also hope that Cortese is vindicated and that Pochettino is in charge for a long time to come with us at the highest level. No idea why the two aren't possible
  17. This new bloke might be fantastic and I'll get behind him, but that doesn't mean Nigel didnt give me some of the best times as a Saints fan in the last 25 years, or that he didnt deserve better. Thanks, and good luck Nigel - I hope you find your place somewhere. One Nigel Adkins
  18. My tuppence, in no order - Boruc was good I thought the penalty was for the Guzan challenge, and the ref played advantage I'm a Ramirez fan, but we won despite him rather than because of him I'm a Rodriguez fan, but he needs a bit of Rickie's bulk "Your ground's too big for you" was the worst chant of the day Row UU is a looooong way up the stairs I'd be worried if I were Villa - they remind me of us when we were relegated from the Premiee League Benteke looks a handful - I'd have him here I'd like it if we signed a CB, but this squad as it is can keep us up
  19. That's right. What?
  20. I wouldn't have bothered coming back to the thread but my Uberfan Klaxon Alert went off, I wanted to see if I'd missed anything
  21. I'd rather see the $k@tes win every remaining game this season than qualify for Europe right now. Crap way of qualifying for a crap tournament that would do us no favours at all. Understand why you would raise the point, but it must be the last thing we would need
  22. This news mst have NA absolutely riddled with fear. How can he continue now?
  23. May I suggest some further undermining threads you might want to start - Which of your children would you rather not have had? If you could swap your wife for an ex-girlfriend, which one would it be? If you could go back in time and support a different club, which one would you go for?
  24. Is St Mary's still our stadium? - we're not using it this weekend, and apparently we're not using it next Saturday either - friend of mine tells me there is not one single fan in the stadium right now - rumours that they're going to pull the stadium down and replace it with a bouncy castle I really think we're doomed this time
  25. I can neither confirm nor deny that I have, or have not, read the link posted at the start of this thread. I have read this thread, however I did not inhale. Think that covers it
