  1. Quick straw poll - if we were to equalise, which would be louder? The collective cheer, or the collective sigh of disappointment? 39p for the first reply stating how it doesn't matter, we're not likely to find out...
  2. ^ this
  3. That's your opinion. You're entitled to it. Nigel's opinion is that we don't. I side with Nigel, I think he and the club deserve my support. That's my opinion, I'm entitled to it. I'm also of the opinion that more people side with Nigel's opinion than the one you have put forward. Opinions
  4. Maybe because no team revolves around one player. Maybe because you pick the team to suit the opposition, and that is best placed to win the match. Maybe because this might be the kind of game that you want to finish strongly with good players to choose from on the bench. Maybe because you see something in training every day that influences your decision. Maybe because you want to keep players as fresh as you can throughout the season. Other than that, I don't honestly know
  5. "I know more about football than you do!" "Yeah, but I said we didn't sign enough players/the right players before you did!" "I knew we were going to lose before we kicked off! I said so!" "No, I did!" "Waaaaah!" "WAAAAAAAAAAH!"

    Billy Sharp

I like Billy Sharp but I definitely didn't leave the stadium today thinking that he was the missing link...
  7. Think Ramirez would have created a chance or two, especially first half. Yoshida is no right back, but he doesn't pretend to be. Rodriguez is going to be a great player, he just isn't quite there as yet. Thought taking Puncheon off for Chaplow made perfect sense at the time, Fulham were beginning to boss the midfield. Puncheon had a great game. Gazzaniga is a definite no. 1 in the making. Brain dump ends
  8. I think we should concede some more goals, and stop trying to score as many. No, hang on, the other way round. Or is it? I've confused myself now. I'll get back to you
  9. How the hell do you get to that conclusion based on what has been said?
  10. Games we win - "Adkins got it right" Games we lose - "Adkins got it wrong" It really is that black and white, isn't it? No chance that in the games we lost there were good elements, as well as areas to improve on when we win. ALSO - 51p for the first person to guess the correct massively obvious thread to start should we manage a draw. Clue - it's not as good as "Adkins got it right", but not as bad as "Adkins got it wrong"
  11. Great thread. Would read again
  12. Well done you, have yourself a biscuit. Apply for a job, we'd be top of the league by Christmas
  13. *dials 999* "Yes, WAAAAAAAAH-mbulance please. As quick as you can, thanks..."
  14. Not letting this thread go without posting in it somewhere. Well done everyone
  15. Massively proud of that. I don't care what league we're in, I just know that being a Saints fan is and has been for a number of years now, a lot of fun
  16. Alan McLoughlin. I've cheered on Carlton Palmer, Iain Dowie and Mark Hughes over the years, and thinking back on it I think it was just because they weren't Alan McLoughlin
  17. I'm afraid this is true. I heard it from Nigel, who said we're up for sale and that he would be leaving next week. This promotion is the beginning of the end if you ask me, I was so devastated when we won yesterday it took me upwards of 8 seconds to make my way on to the pitch...
  18. Dear Sir. Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou. All my love, Judge_B
  19. Lambert and Hooiveld, shining lights in a squad that have excelled all season
  20. 34, live in Newbury. Family across the road were Saints season ticket holders so I went a couple of times with them. First game was a 0-0 draw away to Oxford, and I have vague recollections of a win against Liverpool at the Dell. First game as a season ticket holder was a 1-0 win against Norwich in an evening kick off, own goal from a corner. I also won the £250 half time draw that night. Seen us win at Wembley (Carlisle), seen us lose at Wembley (Forest). Seen le Tiss score two of the best goals ever, within minutes of each other. Seen Barry Horne score from the halfway line, seen Neil Ruddock score with his arse. Seen Ken Monkou keep Ian Wright in his back pocket for 90 minutes. Seen my son cheer a goal at SMS. Seen us nearly go out of business, and so whatever the result I will watch us forever more with a sense that I'm glad there is still a team to watch. Forever red and white
  21. Best win of the season. Kelvin Davies is a bona fide Saints legend. So, so happy right now
  22. Stood waiting for a bus. Got caught cold beginning of 2nd half, fortuitous equaliser, then we took control. Seen us play better but we ran the show for the majority of the game
  23. Thought we struggled to get going, and even with the penalty we weren't great first half. Started brightly when we came back out, and some of our play as Watford pushed forward was irresistible. Our depth from the bench is brilliant, and if any team is daft enough to give us space we will tear them apart, I don't care who they are. Special mention for the Watford back 4 though - especially Mariappa and Doyley. Even conceding 4 I thought they were good. My only downside is that we seemed to have a left back who can't wait to get forward but had no outlet, and a right winger dying to run at the defence but without the support from deep. Still, hard to complain a 4-0 win...
  24. Ask him why when you posed one question on an Internet forum, 95% of those that replied chose to ignore your question and answer a question that hadn't been asked?
  25. Got home from work, checked the sports news and there it was. RIP Markus, and thank you so much for what you have done for this club
