  1. He wasn't out of his depth last season - he was good in the championship, and there's no reason why he won't be this season.
  2. Bang
  3. Agreed. He'll be decent for us, and confidence in him is perhaps why we're willing to move Tino on.
  4. And even weirder that he's a winger and Martin doesn't play wingers.
  5. Courteeners are the best band most people have never heard of. St Jude was immense, and the Re:wired version is something else - the missus managed to get me a signed picture disc if that upon release. Both of those albums are amongst my most valuable vinyl - shows the appeal that they have.
  6. Debbie Harry sounded decent this year, and was good at the IOW too. Starting to look her years, but does well for an old girl. On the well established acts, Depeche Mode are as established as they come and ain't going anywhere, ditto the Killers, Arcade Fire, James refuse to retire. There's countless others and I can see bands like the Courteeners being around for a long long time and gaining fans over time.
  7. He looked like Jim Carrey who'd raided Harry Styles wardrobe. Definitely looked different to usual.
  8. I hope you're right mate. Selling him would be silly, and £15m would be give away money.
  9. Yep. I assumed we'd lose KWP and start the season with Bree and Tino as our RB/RWB's.
  10. You're struggling on this one aren't you mate. Keep thinking it over, and the penny may eventually drop.
  11. Do you see a PL full back on Larios? Was it £7m well spent?
  12. I expect anyone we sign for £7m to be good enough to play for the team. Sure, the policy of signing unproven kids to pay first team football in the PL was absolutely mental, but I saw nothing in this kid to suggest he was going to be a PL level full back.
  13. This "he was ok for his age" approach is nonsense. Players who appear for the first team need to be good enough for that stage. Age is irrelevant - he wasn't good enough. That we spent just shy of £10m on him and Small is mental, and the fact that we've got Meghoma tells me that there's doubts about at least one of them.
  14. Yep. Will never have the size or power to be a PL/championship full back imo. He was a monumental waste of money.
  15. I've seen them do that before - surprisingly good. They do a great version of There is a light.

I don't follow, and I'm not sure you follow my point.

What's happened already is incredible, but their actions won't last long if aerial power is used against them. That it hasn't been already is interesting.

They do, yes, and I have no sympathy for them. That wasn't my point though.

Very - I can't imagine how any child feels to have his/her father on the phone saying his last goodbyes, ditto the wife, etc. I'm not sure how anyone can't see the sadness in that situation. Don't confuse that with me feeling sadness for a mercenary who's turned his gun on his employer.

Just caught up with the news. Blimey! Very sad to read that Wagner men have called home to say their goodbyes.

    Israel

So the west shouldn't give a monkeys because there's worse elsewhere?! Not an outlook I can subscribe to. Today we've had the UN criticise Israel for using 'advanced military weaponry' on a Palestinian refugee camp. You won't find a peep on the BBC They've been told by the UN to stop land grabbing from the Palestinians and building settlements but ignore it. It's the desire in the west to gloss over the Israeli government's actions that's just weird. Sending tanks, soldiers and helicopter gunships into a refugee camp, and killing kids and others in the process, just to arrest 2 people is plain mental.
  23. I've re read this. Your opinion is that we can't do anything about inflation. That presumably means that you suggest that we suck it up and get on with it. That's not much of a plan mate.
  24. So you don't think that restricting peoples ability to spend won't help reduce inflation? I agree that external factors are a big factor though. The ever weakening pound, and our reliance on imports, means that we're importing inflation.
  25. That was last year. Back then tax hikes may have helped but it wasn't done and we're now where we are. Tax hikes now won't break the inflationary cycle that we're in. Recession is now almost inevitable.
