He seems to know stuff - unfortunately on this occasion.

If Lavia stays at Chelsea for 5 years, he'll be sold at his peak, with another sale beyond that as well. Who knows how mental transfer fees will be by that point. Chelsea will make money out of him unless his career nosedives for some reason.
-
Thanks. I did not expect Moussa and Aribo to be 3rd and 1st.

In this era of £100m + transfer fees, and the Saudi money, I doubt that these lads see Chelsea or Newcastle as their final destination. Indeed, for youngsters like Tino and Lavia, there will be undoubtedly be moves for them. If we sell Lavia to Chelsea for £60m, who's to say that he won't be sold on for £100m in a few years - I think that's a very real possibility - he has at least as much potential as Caceido. It would be sensible business for saints to want a sell on from any profit. Sure, it won't help us now, but I suspect that when/if Lavia gets sold for £120m, that many of us will be bemoaning the club if they didn't agree a sell on clause. The above said, if the choice for us was an extra £5m now or a sell on, it'd be the cash now. A bird in the hand etc.

Let's see how this ends. It's just a hunch, but I don't think it'll be Chelsea, and I don't think he'll go for £60m. There was shill bidding in the Rice transfer.
-
I think Liverpool will let it play out... Chelsea won't need him, and I can see why he'd prefer Liverpool as he'd actually play. If Liverpool become the only bidder, the price will fall. If Liverpool match or better Chelsea's bid, I'd say take it and end the saga.
-
Ha! Behind him because he doesn't play. His performances for Liverpool impress me a hell of a lot more than Baz's for us.
-
I think so, yes. Look at one our former youngsters Alfie Jones and how he's doing, and done, at Hull. Not sure how I feel about Holgate though. Seems more of a sweeper type than the dominant CB we need.
-
Yep, but I'm confident that the back 4 will be improved. One proven championship CB will make a big difference imo. We're not far away at all.
-
Kelleher is a weird one. Plainly too good to be a number 2. I'd be delighted with him.
-
I'm not even convinced Chelsea want him...I'm confident he'll end up at Liverpool.
-
He seems to be a cracking player. We'll miss JWP's free kicks, but I'm not sure that Downes will offer any less in general play at this level.
-
Eh? He'd be a 1 point a week man.
-
We owe a fortune in instalments for players we've signed previously, and I suspect have had to cut our losses on some we've moved on. This idea that we've got all the money from sales to spend on new players is unrealistic. We've already splashed out on Charles. I suspect we'll buy one or two more, but I'm not surprised to see loans coming in.
-
Correct. He was told during the season that he could go in the summer. In the end I suspect that the lad didn't the move he wanted, and we didn't get the fee we wanted. Anyways, good look to him, he's been a loyal servant.
-
He needs to play to impress and get his next big move. He'll be a bit part player at Chelsea.
-
Personally I'd like to us get as much as cash as possible, and see the kid make progress... potentially very helpful to us if we agree a sell on clause.
-
I just don't get why he'd go to Chelsea apart from money. There midfield is Caceido and Fernandez, plus an attacking CM or two 10's in behind a striker. He'd play every week at Liverpool who don't have a CDM, and had to resort to playing Gakpo in midfield.
-
Indeed. When Manning came in it was obvious that he'd played for Martin before. I'd imagine that coming in and sitting in front of the back 4 won't be a difficultly for him.
