What do you expect when we're in the championship?! Of course our best players will go, and they've also got to balance the books after Ankersen's hilariously shit spending spree. Accepting where we're at is "being realistic". Panicking about what may happen isn't , and pointless. Anyways, I've got faith in Wilcox. Come September I'm confident we'll be ok.

Ditto. Their actions since relegation has been to drag in cash to cover off much of the waste from the last window; brought in Downes, Charles and Manning, and shifted some players like Orsic who weren't up to it. That's action that's persuaded me that the current regime know what they're doing. There's too much flapping.

We may have sounded out Swansea but been told not to bother with an offer. Who knows. It may also be that RM likes the idea of AA through the middle, with Tella, and Sulemana as alternatives. Regardless, in the Wilcox era, SR have got it right. Last season I'd have been sure they'd feck it up. This season I've got faith they'll get it right.

Where have the club posted that?
-
Who says that didn't go for him? Not getting a player, doesn't mean that we didn't try to.
-
Very possible, and that would give the defence much more protection.
-
Agreed. I think he has the potential to be our best player. Him and Tella would be superb. Edozie and young Sam off the bench, or as alternatives - I wouldn't rely on either of those as first pick, Edozie still doesn't do it for me cos of the lack of end product, and Sam shouldn't have the main man pressure quite yet.
-
He didn't ship 50 plus goals by himself mate. The lad is apparently decent. Assuming ABK is on his way, I'd have him, Bednarek and Stephens as a main 3 x CB's, with Lyanco available if we're absolutely desperate.
-
No pining from me mate. I'd prefer someone with a future. If west ham sign a starter, he'll doubtless feature in the merry-go-round you'd imagine, and something may arise for us.
-
So £12m wages for west ham for a player they'd likely no longer need. There's a deal to be had there for someone you'd think.
-
And where would that leave Ings I wander....
-
I'd go with that. That bench is no worse than our bench for much of last season.
-
That's my guess. 72 international caps, and been a PL playerz so big enough profile.
-
I hope that as well as Hove and Wood, that we replace Adams when he goes, and I'm confident that we will. I'm fearful that we'll lose Tella or Sulemana though and not replace whichever one goes. I think we can afford to see Djenepo, Paul, and ABK all leave without replacement, but only if we get Hove and Wood. Lyanco is a shocker, but he's just about adequate as 4th pick.

What's your beef with wellington posts?
-
Edit: for some reason this post re Letby/reform was moved to the squabbling thread.
-
I'm not fussed what others say about SoG or what he says about others. Not my circus, not my monkeys. What I will not tolerate are allegations from him, or anyone else, that I'm bullying the bloke.
-
Please show where there's been a "pile on" against SoG on this thread. I'd particularly like it if you could highlight what I've said to or about SoG that's derogatory. In the interest of balance, perhaps you'd be kind enough to also highlight what he's said about me....... When you've done that, an apology for your nonsense post would be most appreciated.

I haven't said that can just walk out! However, the club won't let him just walk out on a free next year. They'll sell him, we'll get a fee, he'll get a pay rise, and get to lose PL matches most weeks. Frankly, discussion around him is a bit tedious. We've got some people who see the obvious as per the above, and others who can't see the reality and think that he should stay because they've now decided he's brilliant.
