I have. I'm not putting up with nonsense and slurs like that.

My posts on this subject have been respectful. It's a sensitive subject, and an interesting thread which I acknowledged in my first post. I've made no criticism of you whatever, yet you criticise me and suggest I'm an unemployed divorcee. At the end of the day, I've disagreed with your view, but in doing so I have acknowledged that I can understand it. I say this with sincerity - please don't take my disagreements with some of your opinions as being personal. They absolutely aren't. It's a forum, I agree with some people, but rarely with you simply because we have different perspectives on many things. What I find most disagreeable though is that you've made a thread relating to the actions of a serial killer against the most vulnerable people, all about you. That tells me that the problem is you, not other people.

Indeed. Playing for Everton in the PL is a step up on any assessment, and he'd be nuts not to take the extra dollars they'll be paying him. All hypothetical, but if he's on £50k down here (I suspect it'll be less), but will be on £100k up there (I suspect it'll be more) that's the thick end of £2.5m over just the the next year. The expectation that he turns that down, and the chance to play PL football, to please Harry from Harefield is bewildering.

Che seems to have gone from public enemy to irreplaceable messiah rather quickly! @verlaine1979 makes the point that almost everyone was making before he scored this season.

Thanks, I couldn't piece it together, and I'd forgotten that Simeu was injured. Whoever played, that was a good result against Brentford.

We also played a behind closed doors game against Exeter. This was the team for that: McNamara, Davis, Bailey (Dobson-Ventura 79), Moore, Lett, Trialist (Squires 59), Edwards (Pitts 66), Stepien-Iwumene, Merry (Robinson 56), Andrews, Small That leaves Bycroft, Abu, Simeu, Awe, Hewlett, Meghoma, Bragg, Dibling, Finnigan, Ballard ,Olaigbe and Ehibhatiomhan from the u21 players involved in the last game.

Could be, but my guess is Lumley. He's wearing the captain's armband and I can't imagine a youngster would have been skipper.

Sadly I think that's right. Politically he had little choice but to follow Rishi's lead.

Sadly it happens, and it makes a sad situation much worse. This is very much one of those situations where some people are asking for something without any understanding or thought of its real impact. Keir Starmer should know better.

Interesting. Only a year in his contract too so Swansea will be under pressure to listen.

That's a picture of a fire. It could be anything. and anywhere.

Sentencing hearings are merely that. They are not meant to be a show, a cathartic excercise for the victims of those left behind, or anything else. The families all heard the judges thoughts yesterday, and all heard the sentence. Justice, as much as it can be, has been done. This desire to have the defendant in the dock overlooks what could happen. I've been in crown courts when defendants have shouted "they got what he deserved" etc. Just imagine how appalling it would have been if Letby had been dragged into court and said similar. The idealistic, and emotional, viewpoints on this issue are understandable. It's as sad a case as you can imagine. However, I definitely don't want to see defendant's dragged into court and potentially making things worse for those they've harmed.

Yep. Piroe will undoubtedly leave Swansea this window for the same reason Adams will leave us this window. Roundabouts and swings.
-
Very good player. Comfortable receiving the ball in tight spaces, and a nice turn of pace to get out of trouble when there's no pass available. He'll do well for us.
-
Interesting thread. The purpose of a sentencing hearing is just to pass sentence. The defendant need not be there for that. The defendant hearing the impact that the crime has had on others is a concept I understand, but it's not the purpose of the exercise. Dragging them there kicking and screaming (especially if they've pleaded not guilty and do not accept any culpability anyway) is a pointless exercise. There's also the real possibility that they'll shout and holler from the dock anyway and be excluded by the Judge.

There's a lot to agree with there. The issue though is the expectation that SR will let Che walk for nothing. It just won't happen. Beyond that, I wouldn't sell any other players that RM wants for the first team. I'd find a way of shifting those he doesn't want though.

I like your optimism. I'm confident we'll win, but I fancy a tight 3-2. Dunno why, but I think Mara will feature, and score.
-
I think we'll see Manning in midfield at times this season. He's versatile, and given our lack of midfielders, his experience in the middle is likely to help us.
-
It seems that Che has suddenly become irreplaceable, and the difference between promotion and staying down. Personally, I've always liked him and I think he'll score a shit load in this league, but if we can't convince him to sign an extension, we've got to take the money and roll the dice. It's a risk for sure, but this season and under Wilcox, I have faith in SR. What I wouldn't want to see is Tella or Alcaraz sold - we need them, and there's no wisdom in moving either on now.
-
The fact that we've wasted money on players is one reason why we cannot and will not let the valuable ones walk away for free. I share your concern though that we may not get the replacement right. Fingers crossed.
-
You'll just have to accept that SR will not let Che walk for nowt next year, however much you'd like them to. To me their decision is perfectly understandable.

Yet he starts him in 1 game from 3. Hardly a sign that he's RM's chosen man is it.
