We need a centre forward who can hit the ground running in the PL. This season. Not next. Jackson may improve, but relying on another raw kid would be mental.
-
You criticise Wood and use his stats to support the argument. If you're supportive of Jackson signing, what are you basing that on? It can't be stats, as his are shit. Regardless, Wood ain't crap. He's not playing for Newcastle cos they play one up top and that one is Wilson. He's an upgrade on Adams, and imo a better finisher. If we're going to play with one up top, I think he improves us. I like the look of Jackson personally. Looks a bit raw, but the attributes are there. If it was one of him or Wood though, I'd take wood as we're more in need of a centre forward than a wide forward.

Cheers Del, Ill try turmeric. My go to preventer is (or has been) concentrated cherry drink (dilute with water) and a decent apple cider vinegar (organic with 'mother'). Both really good at keeping the uric acid in balance.

I'm 50. When drinking I was having gout attacks often - knees, Achilles, elbows, big toes, etc. Horrific pain, especially knee and Achilles. Since stopping almost 6 years I've only had one attack, and haven't used the allopurinol for a few years now. Excercise is vital for it, ditto lots of water to flush the body, and avoiding an excess of protein. I hope you can keep it at bay 🤞

Bold statement. We don't know what the board have and haven't tried to do. They've shown themselves able to players over the line, but in reality, we can't always get who we want. I'd hazard a guess that the club have enquired about Ings and Wood, but if they ain't available for sale or loan, then we ain't getting them.
-
He was. Is he anymore though? I think there's a lot of nostalgia around Ings.
-
He'd be just what we need - a proper number 9 who can finish. Whether or not he goes to Forest, I can't see them going down.
-
That all pre-supposes that players would want the club to have an option - these contracts ain't on just our terms.
-
I suspect he would, but our midfield needs 3 so 2 up top would need a rethink across the pitch.
-
If he doesn't suit a wide striker role or one man through the middle role at villa, he won't suit that here. On the second point, there was no "guff" from anyone when we signed him. The concern was understandable - he'd had both knees rebuilt and had barely kicked a ball. With hindsight he was a good signing, but most people had genuine reservations when he signed. What we don't know is what version of Ings we'd be getting 4 1/2 years after he first signed. Personally, I'd take a punt if he was available.
-
Cheers. That ends that then.

Where's that been said/posted? The criticism has been of him as a defensive midfielder, where he's not been great. If you're gonna have a pop at the critics, get it right.

Cheers. I'm anticipating a few more letters before the year is over. I reckon a P for the pansexuals is nailed on. -

Can't see it as a love honey special edition, but some may like that sort of thing. -
👍 Took me a moment!!

If Coutinho plays as a 10, Lavia will sort him out. We'll be ok against Villa.

I liked the look of him. Was looking for the ball. There was one little passage not long after he came on where he picked the ball up out wide, moved it inside quickly and made a great run into the box in a good position. He didn't get on the ball much, but he was busy and put a proper shift in.
