I'd still have played him in the Czech game. Kane needs a shot across the bows to liven him up. I'm no DCL fan, at least not the way we play. For all the JWP talk, I actually think Ings was a better candidate for the squad. He'd offer us a different option going forward with his pace and pressing.

Depends on your perspective mate...hopefully he'll now bite. Entertainment.
-
But, my car works. It's not 100% perfect though. Maybe it doesn't actually work. I'm confused now.
-
Rashford for me.

Agree with that. I'm happy to see us grind out results. My concern is that we're not creating enough chances, but are getting exposed from time to time. Hopefully Stones is OK as I think him and Maguire gives us a very solid CB pairing. The next game is arguably the toughest we could face. Get through it and things could get interesting.

Saying that the vaccines work (which they do) is not saying that they are 100% perfect (which they are not). It's simply saying that they work.

It won't be either. National league players are earning way more than that. Indeed, one or two national league south clubs were paying more than that pre pandemic. I don't have any recent knowledge, but our young pros nudging first team squad will be earning some proper money. Going way back to our league 1 days, Aaron Martin came in from Eastleigh mid season and signed for our minimum figure of (I think £800pw), played a few, then signed up on £4-6k PW dependant on game involvement. If we gave £6k PW to a kid we signed from Eastleigh back then, I dread to think what this lad is on now. Regardless, good luck to the lad. Half decent, but that ain't enough for this level.

Doubt they'll be one. Don't confuse thinking he's not good enough for England with wanting him gone.
-
That's cos they shit themselves every time he got on the ball, and he put the ball on a plate for our goal. Moaning because one of our players plays well and gets some praise. FFS.
-
Average tonight, despite the goal. Saka and Grealish both far better.
-
Agreed. Games like this should be used to rest those needing one, and give the fringe players a game, with the message that there's a shirt to play for.
-
Good team, although someone mentioned that Foden is on a yellow so I'd have Saka in for him. Loads of pace, and players with a point to prove.
-
Very odd treatment of him recently. It's hard to make a case for Sterling over him for this game.
-
You're hilarious Matty. A footy match in the real world is played over 90mins, not 90 secs of free kicks. Oh man.
-
Read all of them mate, not just the bits you like. Look at all outgoings against all non loaned income. Then look at the pattern since promotion. You'll see a simple trend. Our business model means that they are a selling club.
-
You've seen to different accounts to me mate. We cannot buy without selling. That's the reality. It shouldn't be, but it is. As for JWP, let's see what happens. I don't want him to leave, but if he's as good or valuable as you believe him to be, buyers will be beating the door down. If he wants to go, he'll go, and the price will be the best we are offered.
-
I'm not talking about the loan. We need to sell to buy, you're bright enough to understand that. We have to sell to the highest bidder. The highest bid will bid based on market forces, not the opinion of someone on a forum.
-
My thoughts. I like Bournemouth, ditto the other home nations. As Antrim says, their issue with us has to be big brother envy.
-
I don't think anyone who's saying we wouldn't take £30m appreciates our financial position. We've always sold, it's our business model, and there's a greater need now more than for a long time.
-
Brentford aren't established in the PL. Villa are. They're in no danger of relegation. Besides, I'm struggling to see what's keeping JWP here. Success for us will be avoiding relegation next season. Villa will do better than that, and in his shoes, I'd rather be there and banking more cash.
-
They're closer to European football than we are, and doubtless could up his wages. Another £20k PW over a 5 year contract is another £5m. Money talks.
-
He was the only player other than Foden against Scotland who was positive. Good shout re Grealish though. On reflection, he's the logical change.
-
We'll miss Mount. I'd hope that he'll play Foden in that role, and bring Sancho in on the right. Chilwell won't be missed.

Yes. Weston and Antrim were commenting on steel post brexit, on a post brexit thread, so oddly enough I commented on steel in a post brexit context. Odd that you find that odd. If you want to start a thread about industry revival, crack on, and for what it's worth I'm all for the revival of the steel industry if its economically viable.
-
Tim, this is a post brexit thread, not a general "industry revival" one.
