Bollox. Anyone can be unsure or undecided. Answering yes or no to something, when the true answer is I don't l know, is dishonest. I asjwd the question to my wife and she answered I don't know. Why must she give a dishonest answer?
-
Indeed mate. He's agreed that something that we can't know the answer to, in the present not future, can be answered "I don't know" thus it surely applies to the "does God exist" question.
-
Dunno, but I have nothing much to do for the next half hour and I can't be arsed to watch the telly so this'll do.
-
Then it's also a perfectly reasonable answer to whether a person currently believes that a god exists. In your world, we get it, it's binary but to others I don't know is the correct and truthful answer.
-
FFS, it really isn't. Don't know is a perfectly credible alternative. Will England beat Germany? Is their a lady in Peru currently wearing odd socks and singing? Will it rain on Christmas day? I don't know is my answer to all 3, and one of the questions is in the present.
-
Bizarre that your messed up logic only applies to what you want it to. Face it mate, you've tied yourself up in a few little knots here. We live in a non binary, faith based world. I put my faith tomorrow night in the players doing their best in winning, but I cannot say yes or know if they will. I don't know - neither yes nor no, but I have faith that they'll do their best and I hope that we'll win. If you're an English man, you'll share that hope and faith notwithstanding that you claim to not have faith. We all have hope and faith of some sort. All of us.
-
Very good point!!

You need to get away from your binary world Matty. Following your logic, questions can only ever be answered yes or no. That's a bit mental. Give this one a try with a binary yes or no factual answer. Will Harry Kane score against Germany? My answer is a non binary "I don't know".
-
OK. Doing so was an act of faith.
-
Don't know is neither yes nor no. Its an honest answer. I don't know whether I'll get a blow job later. It may be a yes, it may be a no.
-
Are you honestly telling me that you've never once crossed your fingers and hoped for the best?
-
There are all sorts of different theological theories...your interpretation is not one that others agree with. Ultimately, the badge is irrelevant. A baby has no beliefs or disbelief at birth. It's a blank canvas. You seem to grasp that, so fuck knows what point you're trying to make.
-
Yes, no, don't know, don't give a shit.
-
It's hilarious. The boy's all over the place. So desperate to be right. #prayformatty
-
Move away from God. Faith runs deeper, and we all have it. We all cross our fingers. We all hope. That's faith at its simplest - everyone puts faith in something that isn't them.
-
Answer the question. At what point do you say that babies start to develop faith in something other than themselves?
-
Mate, this ain't a theological debate. It's a really simple point that a baby is born with no opinion on anything. You can call that what you want. On the wider point, there's a variety of theories on what defines atheism. Some point say there is agnosticism, others dispute it. Who gives a shit.
-
Of course its relevant. A baby has no idea of the concept of God, thus their is neither belief nor disbelief. Let's move this along. At what point do you say that babies start to develop faith in something other than themselves?
-
I think we agree that babies are born neither believing nor disbelieving in anything. You can slap whatever title you want om that, the principle is agreed.
-
Simple yes or know Matty - do you agree that a child is born with neither a belief nor disbelief in God or religion? The title slapped on it is irrelevant.
-
On your latter point. Proving the existence of a god will never happen as one can never scientifically prove the existence of faith, and by extension, who or what - if anything) they put their faith in. The truth though is that we all live by faith of sorts, the difference is the extent to which we acknowledge or accept that.
-
You're intelligent enough to appreciate that there is argument galore about the definition of atheism but, semantics aside, it must be accepted that a person is born with neither a belief nor disbelief in God or religion (the latter not being a requirement to believe in the former).
-
Glad it's not just me. We're born completely devoid of opinion on race, religion, faith, etc. Everything thereafter is learned, discovered, or imposed.

Yep. They looked a good outfit. Very organised and players who punched well above their reputations. Grillitsch stood out as a very good player.
