You say that you grasp it, but then demonstrate that you don't or choose not to. I suspect that you've seen the accounts. It's obvious from them why we had to borrow. We've then had covid and sponsorship issues. We spend more than we earn. We therefore need capital. If Gao has it, he won't inject is as he won't see it back. That's why we have to sell our Citroen to buy a Skoda. If the bloke from the midlands has a line of credit or a wealthy uncle willing to lend him a few quid, of course he can buy his Audi, but we ain't that bloke and just cos he can have an Audi, it doesn't mean that we can afford one. You keep on about agents fees and bonuses. Of course every club has to pay them. For some clubs they're easily affordable and don't get in the way of spending. For skint clubs, like us, they do.
-
You never seem to grasp that what other clubs do, or can afford to do, is irrelevant to what we can do or afford to do. It's like saying that if a wealthy bloke from Chilworth can buy a lamborghini, that the minimum wage bloke from elsewhere shouldn't have to make do with borrowing his mates old Kia. We're skint Del, it ain't complicated.
-
Exactly this. The club putting out stories linking us to good players only for us to sign some donkey makes zero sense. None of the conspiracy theorists will ever be able to answer your question.
-
Yep, Lighthouse way of comparing the effectiveness of players is nonsense. Smallbone hasn't done anything so far to suggest that he is capable of effecting a game in the way SB can. Having seen Tella play, I can only assume that he's in the squad as there's nobody else if we're keeping SB away from the team. SB on the bench, or as cover or an alternative, makes sense to me.
-
Yep, agree with all of that. The CB's were lambs to the slaughter today with the way we were set up and the midfield.
-
I'll bite. You say "so called 'virus'". What is it if its not a virus? I get that you'll be there if stadium's reopen, but I suspect you'll find that many won't be.

Ralph started last season with odd tactics too before he came to his senses. Strange.
-
We arrive at the same destination by different roads!
-
Yep. I reckon he'll do well there, Watkins too.
-
True but I take that with a pinch of salt. Can't let the vultures know we're skint. You've seen the accounts Del, the £85m loan, and you know the way the world spin, especially now. We need a huge injection of cash which we won't get, or we've got to duck and dive. I'm putting a wager on a loan midfielder from the Dutch or Turkish league, and a reserve winger from Arsenal or City, at best.
-
I'll point out now that "we can't afford to buy anyone". Pointing that out makes me realistic, not a "cheerleader". We were skint pre covid and getting tucked up by our former sponsors. We'll have to make do with what we have, kids, or a crappy loan/free/budget signing.

I don’t think it’ll too different to that, although Jankewitz came off early for the B team so possibly injured. I think we’ll see Slattery in there, and I’d be surprised if Sims doesn’t get a game.
-
So 11 amateur footy players and their boss can be in a changing room together, but can't then go to the pub together. Mess.
-
Bastard!! I got back in eventually!!
-
Jeez. He's shocking. A downgrade on Hoj, and Reed.
-
Nobody will buy them. If they would, I doubt they'd match their wages and the players won't go for a pay cut. If we're paying up say a £30k a week shortfall over 2 years, that's £3m off the top of a transfer fee.

There's definitely something in this incognito thing. If i try to come in through the home page or a landing page it will hang and not open. If I do the same in incognito, I get in and the navigation is quick. Hopefully there's a simple fix.
-
Well there we have it, Tella is the answer, no need to replace Hoj.
-
Ha! He may have enough, hopefully so as I think it inevitable we'll be relying on youth as cover.
-
I've seen him a couple of times and haven't seen anything to suggest he'll ever be a premier league player. We have Slattery back and if he's back in Ralph's good books, he may be the cover.
-
No, you're 5th choice if you're good enough yet. He isn't.
-
Tella is a million miles from the Premier league.
-
Ha!! I think you're right. Looking at available English prem league left backs, the choice was Bertrand or Matt Targett. He played a right back instead.
-
I agree, but we were skint pre covid and our sponsors left a £7.5m hole. I think we'llhave to get by with the bare bones plus those we can't shift sadly.
