Can't believe this thread. Can't be arsed to read it all but I get the point. We didn't need a bigger stadium when were in the prem, so don't need one now. If aNd when we go up, aNd people are begging for tickets on a regular basis, perhaps this thread would have relevance.

Agreed. The problem tho is that the silly fees from the prem are bound to radiate down. Once the bar is set high and others are prepared to pay we either pay daft money or miss out.

That's probably the case. But there has to be something in it for the agent too. If there's not and/or someone else is offering similar terms but is easier to deal with then we are at a disadvantage. Not saying the above applies though.

That's a lot of words to not actually deal with what I said, or have said throughout this thread. I have said that the statement is a concern IF true. I have said that nobody on here knows the truth either way. I have also said that I doubt that it is true. Yes we have done a lot of deals in the past. We are now in with bigger boys chasing bigger boys. Relationships with agents will be important. IF we have poor relations we are at a disadvantage. Crystal?

I did not say that what a player or club want's is irrelevant. My view is that agent's have a lot of power. They set up talks for players. If they don't set up talks with a club then the club does not speak with the player. Simple as that.

I think you just confirmed Hypos point. Hoping something is not true does not mean that it isn't, and does not address the significance if true. Don't get me wrong I'm not sure I believe it, just playing devils advocate.

People seem to be missing the point that if we can't get past the agent we can't get to the player. They might be scum but they are scum that we need. If, and it is an if, that "word around the agents campfire is that agents or clubs won't deal with saints" then we should be concerned.

If that's the case you should know that agents have masses of power generally, and influence over players. It is naive to think anything otherwise.

No its not. Its ultimately up to the player to decide on the move. To be in that the position the player has to talk to the club. To do that the players agent has to set up talks. We come back to the agent. Some people really have no idea how the business side of the game operates.

Makes sense, but what about the clubs won't deal with us part? One interpretation could be that we are unrealistic when we try to buy. Kind of ties in with the mcs thread.
