Promes, apparently, is that it?! As for the remainder, we agree that we are able to sign players, and that we do so. That some players turn out to be rubbish is a secondary issue - more scouting than ambition/financial.
-
What players have we bid for that aren't for sale? Seems an odd allegation. It's utter ****** to suggest that we can't sign players. We have a bloated squad cos we've signed too many!! Truth is a lot of them are sh1te, but this line that we can't or don't sign players is ******.
-
Yep, we've bought some players who have turned out to be poor acquisitions. However, that's a scouting issue, not a) an inability to secure deals and/or) an unwillingness to spend money on either transfer fees or wages. Those are the 2 big complaints / allegations from fans but both are invalid.
-
Agreed. I read countless posts on here saying that we penny pinch, and that we can't get deals done. On the flip side the complaint is that we have a bloated squad with players on too much money. The truth is that we do have too many players. We have them as we've got deals over the line. Additionally, we're stuck with certain players cos we over pay them. I agree that we need to be more responsible. The signs are that we are doing that at last.

Lemina has played right wing back. I'd be surprised if we didn't use him there.
-
I'm satisfied that Ralph will have sanctioned the sale satisfied that they'll either be a replacement coming in, or that he's happy with what we have.
-
Some sense at last.
-
It is. My opinion is that Ralph knows what he's doing; that he is sanctioning all sales and that unlike the people on here he understands that wanting a player doesn't mean we are guaranteed to get him. The club want and need stability, and want and need Ralph. I remain of the view that anybody who questions out current (not past) transfer dealings are questioning Ralph's judgement.
-
Ralph is a coup for us. We'll want to keep him. It's very naive to even suggest he will not have a huge say in the players leaving and available to him. If not, we'll lose him very soon.
-
Every poster expressing concern about players being shipped out, I'll go out on a limb and say with Ralph's approval, is questioning Ralph's judgement in allowing those players to move on. If there's another interpretation then spell it out to me.
-
The only 'concern' appears to be from people who on one hand say 'in Ralph we trust' but by expressing concern appear to be saying 'we don't trust Ralph'. I'm confused but my faith is in an actual quality football manager, rather than clueless keyboard managers.
-
Ridiculous comment. Hoj is clearly an important player to Ralph. Austin, Cedric, Hoedt and Gabbi clearly aren't / weren't. I agree with StrangelyBrown. We have a squad bloated with overpaid mediocrity. Of course we need to shift those players. I agree that the hysteria around players leaving, who are not fancied by Ralph, is pathetic. Let's be honest, it's improbable that players are being sold from over him. Instead, the rubbish he doesn't want is being moved on and inevitably he'll get to bring in his kind of players (ability, athletically and mentality wise) at some point. Imo we needed a bit of a revolution in terms of management, playing staff, playing style and involvement of youth. We're getting that and i for one happy to see it continuing.

Probably as they are all prone to injury. Just a guess.

Loan according to BBC, with option to buy in the summer.
-
Full backs have to defend, it's their main duty. That includes the back post. Cedric, one on one, defends well. In all other respects he doesn't and suggesting he is (or was) our best defender is nuts.
-
I'll wait to see what actually happens rather than listen to gossip. If we get a loan fee and his wages off our books, that loan fee and those wages can be better used elsewhere in my opinion. Given the choice, I'd rather have another attacker than Cedric who I think we can live without.
-
You said that before, I asked in what way. You haven't explained. The fella can't head, can't cross, can't defend the back post. He's also out of contract soon. Getting rid is a no brainer. Valery has proved good enough.
-
Exactly. It's a fact that Cedric is a bit part player and if Ralphy feels we can cope without him that's fine with me. More to the point, if we can make make a few quid and sign someone to push Armstrong for a start/push Moi closer to the exit/give cover for Redmond, then I'm happy with that.
-
Best in what way exactly? Defending the back post? Heading? Putting crosses into the same post code as the strikers? He really isn't any great loss.
-
At the moment but its not his preferred system. I actually think Stephens is our best available right back (assuming Cedric does leave) but i agree he's no wing back.
-
We can't "insist" on any club being prepared to buy any player, and/or any player being prepared to move to a particular club. If the best available deal which shifts a players wages (or a proportion) is a loan then that's what we have to do.
-
Wages and manager pay offs aren't the only expenses!! That said, they eat up the majority of our expenditure. Then there's agents, other staff, other running costs, we spent £40m on staplewood, tax on any operating profit, repayment of loans etc etc.
-
Looks far better at CB imo. Good positioning and excellent on the ball. I'm surprised he hasn't made the first team yet to be honest.

That injury will disappear with the closure of the window. Or a move.
