That's a strange response. Murder is a wholly different crime to manslaughter. Murder requires intent, well malice aforethought if you want to be precise, whereas manslaughter doesn't. It is possible to stab someone to death, and avoid a murder conviction. It is the intent to kill that is the difference between the two crimes. That could apply, and often does, even when there is no claim of defence. Self defence is a different issue. You need to show that the act of defence is reasonable and linked to the threat. So if someone is in no obvious physical danger, goes off and gets a weapon and then attacks someone, again when there is no obvious physical danger, they are not using self defence. If they were in danger one then looks at the degree of force, ie if you stab the ****er to death when he's down and out you've gone too far. Juries can be liberal in how they interpret intent and/or the circumstances of self defence. I don't know enough of the facts of this case to give a view. Personally one part of me thinks that we should be able to do what we like to burglars without fear of conviction. Another part of me is worried that is likely to mean burglars being more physical, ie getting in there first.

Can anyone suggest a decent keyboard for android, preferably with t9 input but not essential. I've got swype but find it buggy. I mostly use the chinese keyboard (in english tho) but it has a habit of putting capital letters in random places. Any ideas appreciated.

Just give it a rest please. Turkish and kraken have highlighted the facts. I can't be bothered to repeat them and/or rewrite them so they are easier to comprehend. I too am out of this pointless debate.

Where do people think that the extra ten thousand or so fans will come from? There is not the expanding catchment area that people talk of. Chelsea and man utd have been mentioned in this thread. London is a massive city and manchester has loads of towns and cities go greater manchester. There fanbase is almost limitless. We have sea to the south of us, winchester to the north, pompey to the east and bournemouth to the west. In between we have a few small towns and a load of ponies.

I'm not at all negative. I'm realistic. I've said that if and when we go up and its clear that we need a bigger stadium that the issue then warrants discussion. What's negative about that.
-
Priceless! Can you really imagine Cortese approaching the Liebherr money men and asking for 50mil to expand the stadium on the basis that there's no evidence that we won't fill an expanded stadium?
-
But you can't ignore facts. We've only ever consistently sold out when the dell was at its reduced capacity. We didn't sell out when we were last in the prem so we're not going to sell out while we're in the championship. Can someone please explain the point of this discussion given our league status, and the resultant likely crowds?
-
Unsure of why you're copying in my quote from the stadium thread. Random!
-
Yes. It is merely a proposed concept for the future. Granted, a lovely one at that. Cortese is a shrewd businessman. He would not throw money at a potential whiTe elephant. As I have said, should we go up this may be a runner. Until then it is pointless.
-
We will not be getting an expanded stadium anytime soon. We are in the second division. We did not sell out every game when we were here last and an didn't when we weRe in the prem. If aNd when We go up things may change. For now this thread is pointless.

TaKe a gander at the stadium one. At least we will be getting a new kit.
-
But we did not need a larger stadium then so why the discussion about expansion now, when we are in a lower league. If we get back up and are turning people away consistently the decision will be an easy one. Until then its pointless.
-
Are you for real? There's hypothetical and then there's just pathetic. We are not a top eight prem side ffs.
-
Can't believe this thread. Can't be arsed to read it all but I get the point. We didn't need a bigger stadium when were in the prem, so don't need one now. If aNd when we go up, aNd people are begging for tickets on a regular basis, perhaps this thread would have relevance.
-
http://www.parkers.co.uk is a good source for reviews and stats including insurance groups.
-
Agreed. The problem tho is that the silly fees from the prem are bound to radiate down. Once the bar is set high and others are prepared to pay we either pay daft money or miss out.
-
That's probably the case. But there has to be something in it for the agent too. If there's not and/or someone else is offering similar terms but is easier to deal with then we are at a disadvantage. Not saying the above applies though.
-
That's a lot of words to not actually deal with what I said, or have said throughout this thread. I have said that the statement is a concern IF true. I have said that nobody on here knows the truth either way. I have also said that I doubt that it is true. Yes we have done a lot of deals in the past. We are now in with bigger boys chasing bigger boys. Relationships with agents will be important. IF we have poor relations we are at a disadvantage. Crystal?
-
I did not say that what a player or club want's is irrelevant. My view is that agent's have a lot of power. They set up talks for players. If they don't set up talks with a club then the club does not speak with the player. Simple as that.
-
I think you just confirmed Hypos point. Hoping something is not true does not mean that it isn't, and does not address the significance if true. Don't get me wrong I'm not sure I believe it, just playing devils advocate.

The 2011 Summer 'It's so bloody boring, lets have a Saints quiz' thread.

You're right, I can't read. So before 1991 then. -
Ffs! So because I'm not an agent or had dealings with one in a professional capacity I cannot point out the well known fact that agents have a lot of power in the game? What evidence do you have to the contrary?
