We're not reliant on a sale either. It's covered with available resources.

The stuff on this thread/forum is laughable. We're fine. We're not reliant on TV money to clear the immediate debt. The £22m overspend on staplewood is manageable.
-
But these aren't "very uncertain times". The club are in fine shape. Its just unfortunate that too many people wrongly interpret what is written between the lines and have an opinion on the figures without having the ability to understand them.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how happy are you with saints at the moment?

9/10 We're doing OK on the pitch. Katherina has committed to another large chunk of cash to meet our immediate commitments. TV money is on its way. Shaw is highly likely to stay for a season at least. All is good. -
Ha! I hope that's not the breakfast equivalent of being "condemned" to play fox at lb once/if shaw is sold :/
-
It does, to a point. Your comment was in the context that Samuels condemns us as in he is critical which he isn't. The article (which I think is not innacurate BTW) suggests that, owing to the fair play rules, we are condemned to our current position and would be unable to spend our way to the next level if funds were available. ART, like Samuels, isn't wrong.

GS, are you implying that Kreugers comments could be interpreted to mean that he could muscle in on the managers job? If so that is one bizarre interpretation. If not, please clarify what you're insinuating.
-
Agreed. I'm not sure how anyone can read anything negative into what Krueger said. He's confirmed that it's onwards and upwards, that we're not for sale and that he'll leave Poch to get on with his job. Pretty positive to me.

I've got two spare tickets for the watercress line real ale train on 5th April. Leaves Alton 7.30 and returns 10 ish. Loads of good ales and food available. £15 each (face value plus the booking fee) which includes a free pint.

Loads of great places mentioned. Add Mr Smiths, Peggy Sues, The Old Oriental, to name just a few.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-0 Yeovil - (FA Cup 4th Round)

Cracking result. In other news, when the scores/fixtures popped up my missus asked why so many goals in the Stevenage v Everton match. Dippy bint didn't realise that 17.30 was the kick off time. Ffs. -

Can anyone think of an example of a player ever having left because of a change in the boardroom? -

Fulham sold for £150m. Granted there are some megalomaniacs in the game but for every Vincent tan there's a Sensible owner. For me NC was too profile. The best owners and chairmen are like good bass players - they hold the band together but aren't noticed. Think arsenal and Liverpool. In reality we have no idea why NC left. The apparent wish to sell is pure speculation. -

Superb and sensible post. KL may well be committed to the growth of the club. Her family are hugely successful. I for one will sit back, relax and see what the coming days and weeks brings. Instinct tells me that we'll be fine. Really there are 2 outcomes. 1. KL stays. If so she'll want to be a success. 2. KL sells. If so someone will be paying mega money, perhaps £150-300m. Two points arise: A. Anyone paying that will be a serious player and we shouldn't fear the worst. B. KL will want to preserve her asset in the meantime. Nothing to me suggests a need for a panic. -

Read the posts back and look at the context. The point is that someone does not have to be from a football background to successfully run a football club. NC proved that albeit he was surrounded by people from a football background. KL is no less qualified (from a football background perspective) to run the club than NC was when he took over. -

Exactly. Maybe, just maybe, there is no plan to sell and we can carry on as we were albeit with a different chair. -

You've proved the point that someone doesn't have to be from a football background to successfully lead a football club. -

NC wasn't a football person. Why could another non football person not be as successful as he was? -

Agree. The voice of reason. -

Exactly. The rubbish I've read on here today is insane. This could be as simple, and positive, as KL having wanted to install a proper football man to help NC buy more shrewdly and NC throwing his toys out of the pram. That's a guess of course but I'm not sure that positive guesses are allowed. -

How do you know that? Silly speculation. -

Why that assumption? Why are people assuming we're for sale or that it's best that we're sold? There have been conflicting rumours that KL has wanted out but on the other hand want a greater involvement. Why is the former more likely than the latter? How do we know that the latter would be a bad thing? This is a shock but until we know KL actual intentions people must stop overreacting and jumping to wild conclusions.
