  1. Nothing wrong with peaceful protest. Nothing wrong with asking questions. Much wrong in turning angry when questions not answered on demand. The initial protest turned angry - people overlook that. That angry reaction was the catalyst for what followed.
  2. If, and it is an if, the guy shot at the police then the matter must be dealt with as the police see it. There is no opportunity in those cicumstances to determine guilt. Your second point is tenuous. Various people protested, we are told peacefully. They demanded answers from the police, did not get them so their protest became non peaceful. Thus a riot ensued from the protest, and thereafter increased in scale.
  3. How do you know he was innocent? If he was, are you really saying that rioting and looting are appropriate?
  4. I have made my point on the actual issues. I don't feel the need to repeat it again and again, or pick holes in other peoples views. People either like the cover, do not or are indifferent. The issue doesnt warrant 30 ish posts from one person, and a response to every single dissenting view. Just accept, please, that people do not have to agree with you and that you do not have to keep ramming your tedious opinion down peoples throats. By all means respond, and given that you plainly like the limelight, you can have the last word.
  5. Because, blah blah. Just grow a pair and stop whining.
  6. And you disputed that you labour the point.
  7. Scouts and tv cameras do make it to non prem matches.
  8. All sorts of factors influence transfer fees, ie the wish of the player, length of contract, contract clauses etc etc. The fact is that burnley have parachute payments so I think it unlikely that they have to sell.
  9. I know what you mean but Eagles and Mears left for prem football. Cork, understandably, thought we were the better option I am not convinced they have to sell.
  10. He could be better than we have but we have an abundance of left backs. As it is Mills is on the pay roll but doesnt have a squad number. We just dont have room (or a need imo) for another lb. Rodrigues is another matter. Good player who would certainly add something.
  11. Nutshell
  12. That was one person. He is a helmet so imo it was a good decision. Yes the ombudsman agreed with him, but not every decision is correct. I mean, someone allowed you back on here.
  13. People knocking Cortese must remember that he is a business man from a money making background. He makes decisions accordingly. He will upset people in his business dealings, and some of those he upsets will be fans. Some decisions may not be the best, and some may bite him and the club on the arse. Thats the nature of business. I would much rather have Cortese at the helm than someone with no business acumen.
  14. 4 things: 1. We don't know if the lad has turned us down. 2. If he has we don't know why. It may be wages or that wants a chance to play in the prem or that his family are settled or something else. 3. If it is wages, I for one do not want our club giving in to agents and players over wage demand. 4. I want players who want to play for the club and respect a wage structure. The togetherness that seems to run through the club will soon go if someone comes in and earns double that of the next highest.
  15. We dont need fox and Burnley dont need the money (parachute payments, so I assume they are ok). Thus it sounds like ****** to me.
  16. But you do labour the point again, and again, and again. This is a forum, not a debating competition.
  17. I think so. However, any sell on fee would be paid by the selling club, not us. So if the transfer fee had been kept artificially low to reduce the sell on fee I'm not sure why we are the bad guys.
  18. Good point. It goes to a deeper issue though. I help people complete forms most days where they complete their nationality. No Scotsman or welshman ever describes themselves as British, whereas almost every Englishman use the term British. English people have lost the ability to be proud of our nationalism, whereas other British citizens feel able (rightly) to celebrate their heritage.
  19. That is brilliant. I for one love it that we have a chairman with a lot of front. Only downside is that he is s bit too svelte to carry off the hardman look. Bulk up or ship out I say.
  20. All fair points and fair questions. Personally, I think that there are more than 6 sides that are better equipped than us, both in terms of players, parachute payments and recent experience at this level or the prem. For that simple reason I think it unlikely that we will make the top six. I hope I am wrong but I have to let my head rule my heart.
  21. Admiral wanted another 35% or so this year. Went to Chaucer and got it cheaper than last year. Result. Hastings were also competitive. I renewed Mrs eggs through them recently and got a cracking deal. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
  22. Bit of a strange thread tbh. Whether someone is apprehensive depends on their expectations. I am not apprehensive, but I do not have high expectations. This should be a season of consolidation before we fine tune next summer ready for a real promotion push. Anything above that would be a bonus. My view is that we are in reasonable shape to achieve that. We are a top half side with a small chance of sneaking a play off spot, imo. If I had expectations of promotion then I would be apprehensive as I think that's unrealistic with our current squad and the quality of other teams.
  23. 3. The guardian article in the press predictions thread highlights what we are up against. I don't think we're going to be too far away from the play offs but I think this will be a season of consolidation, followed by fine tuning next summer.
  24. Maddison is a coach at Darlington. Banger is the Marketing man at Aldershot and doing rather well. He also has fingers in other pies, ie bits of property etc.
  25. You are plainly in the "I am always correct" group of people so instead of helping you understand a normal persons perception of racism, i am off to the pub. In the meantime have a little look at your definition and, perhaps, compare it to to a proper definition.
