Austin is a complete cock though so I didn’t fancy having him any higher. I do agree about Gabbiadini, but it’s probably one of the highlights of our last decade so it’s easy to remember him more fondly than he should be. Cuco in Amber due to the cost/value would probably be fair but he was pretty terrible. Also agree that Redmond could easily be green. Anyway, I won't keep replying as people are going to log in after work and think something's actually happened. Thought it was interesting to do though.

Decided to have a go at the Saints version of this, after the United one on MNF and having seen a few clubs ones bounce around today. Boufal, Elyounoussi and Vestergaard felt a bit harsh to put into Red. Probably got £1m of joy out of Cuco from the Arsenal goal as well (fees are from Transfermarkt, a few don't seem accurate to me either before I get MLG'd). Che and Gabbiadini could probably swap places too, but the cup final means the latter has to be where he is for me. Bednarek is probably technically green given the fee and the amount of service he's given, but I couldn't put him there. Anything glaringly wrong? Left out this years for obvious reasons.

Yeah I'd also much rather lose Diallo. JWP/Garner & Lavia/Romeu makes a lot more sense than Lavia & JWP/Garner/Diallo, leaving us a bit more covered for injuries. If he wants to go however after noticing he's no longer first choice, then I certainly wouldn't begrudge him.

Not got anything against him. Had spells where he was decent and he’s generally comfortable on the ball, as well as being able to pass through the lines pretty well. Just a liability at this level a little too often, and Lyanco’s arrival probably spelt the beginning of the end for him. I think he’ll do well in the Championship, hopefully it’s a permanent deal for a couple of million (optimistic?).

We give teams a lot to worry about with the 4-2-2-2, but the 3atb just leaves us so deep and easy to push onto.

Got it right in the end today. Can’t give him much credit for doing what he should’ve done at the start late on. Final straw for me would be if we set-up v Leicester in the 5atb again.

I don't disagree at all. I'm just stating that from a fan perspective it's okay to want to move on but also accept that Ralph did a good job here. To suggest that it "couldn't get worse" than constant relatively comfortably survival is madness.

This is the problem. The last few years absolutely could have been worse with our restraints and it's stupid to think otherwise.

He's a good bloke and you may call me naive but I do still think he could've done a really good job with better backing, the signs were definitely there early on and we 100% punched above our weight for a while. I can't shake the feeling now that with articles like this and the fanbase where it's at, that this is only going one way. Whether we'll improve without him or not is another question, but I can't see this going on much longer. A loss at Leeds could definitely do it and overall I'm a bit disappointed. I'd love to see it get turned around but you rarely come back from situations like this. Absolute shite that we have leaks like this coming out the club now too, embarrassing stuff.

I don't think asking about Ralph being sacked to his face is particularly worthwhile. I do definitely think we need to find out more about the transfer policy at the moment, are we any closer to this attacker we've been talking about? Do we now need to make sales to counteract the current net spend?

Losing Che at this stage would be pretty ridiculous. I'd somewhat understand it if we'd already built in a readymade striker, but leaving our goalscoring down to our current options is pretty incredible. He's not a great player, nor will he ever be I imagine, but to spend £15m~ on a player, form him into a good level PL striker and then sell him off to a relegation rival for £15m~ is utterly laughable. If somebody can teach the bloke to finish he'll be quality.
