What would be a marquee signing? we are in the Championship remember.. Sharp obviously had his reasons, could have nothing to do with us. Cork is just waiting for all his options, no harm in that. He already knows what its like here.
-
Goals for free, Id take him. Who cares if he seems uninterested and happy to pick up a paycheck there, I cant imagine it being fun at that ****hole at the moment. Hes a very good striker at this level, and in a good team he'd probably get plenty of chances. And the chance for him to stick one away againnst the blue few would be amusing in itself.

We have literally only just entered July, which is if you look at the last 2 seasons the start of the month where we normally get busy. To name a few.. Jaidi, Harding, Murty, Richardson, Dickson and Butterfield were all bought in July. Lambert wasnt even signed until next month so whilst its frustrating watching others signing players, there still isnt need to go into panic mode yet. The evidence is the fact we have a bid for Cork on the table and we are just waiting now, and the 3mil+ bid for Sharp.
-
It is a really good signing for them no doubt. I would definately have liked to have seen him here. Having said that, I would also much prefer to have Maynard even if it meant paying an extra 1-1.5 million. So bearing in mind we haven't gone for Sharp and not put up the money for CMS (which is fair enough in my eyes) we should really do everything we can to get Maynard.

jordansibley Jordan Sibley Adkins on Chamberlain - "He is in doing fitness tests today. Until there is a bid on the table there is nothing to talk about" #saintsfc Slightly different take on the Chambo situation.

I doubt he was a target, think everyone knows we can do better now.

Biggest Flop Signing & Low Expectation That Came Good
saints-cris replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
Rudi Skacel for the flop - Dont get me wrong, he was a decent player, just nowhere near what we all thought. Come good - Peter Crocuh. -
Seen a few rumours that West Ham are eyeing up Barnard, I of course have no idea if thats true or not. Would be pretty happy with Sharpe though.
-
Have been wondering this myself. A lot of rumours linking us to strikers but with Guly we already have 4. Would quite like to see us linked to some proper Centre Backs to be honest although I would love to get someone like Maynard.
-
Would be nice. Dont see it happening though.. 4mil is pretty steep

Rumour is that hes speaking with them today, and us tommorow

I don't see Peterborough staying up. They will lose their 3 most important players for sure and whilst they'll have a bit of cash to spend after losing them they will not get anyone as good as what they'll lose. Everyone else seems to think Coventry will struggle and I have to agree. Kings goals saved them a bit last season and he's gone now too. No money, and really not much going for them. I also think that if Pompey lose Cotterill they'll be in big trouble. What with them having 9 players and all, he did a great job last season keeping them up. As for going up, Ipswich seem to be making a go for it in pre-season, Middlesborough will be up there too I think as Mowbray is a very good manager. I think teams like Leeds and Cardiff won't be the same force as last season as a lot of their best players have either left or look highly likely to leave. I will go for West Ham, Borough and Forest. -
It is harder and harder to sign players who are in the Premiership now because of ego's and money. These players are almost impossible to get nowadays in the Championship especially if we are (as it seems) careful on wages.
-
Nope. Hes pretty damn handy where he is. Top of a diamond at the most.
-
Good move for him, wish him all the best. Good player but just not good enough for where we are going. What it does say to me though is that we absolutely are looking for a midfielder. Maybe one might even be lined up.

Championship fixtures released - Leeds at home first
saints-cris replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
When seeing the fixtures make this all come alive with some real top teams in there. Looking forward to it ! -
?

They'll spend more money than they have, but regardless of placing them, losing your 3 best players when you get promoted is hardly a good sign. Hopkins was a Watford reject, as per Buckley but Im sure they wouldnt have splashed the cash on them if they werent handy players. More transfer activity from them to come from them im sure, but so far they dont have me too worried.
-
Probably is Lallana, Dickson wouldnt follow him otherwise. Should be a laugh
-
He just isnt a midfielder.. just coz hes tenacious doesnt mean he'll be good there, never really got why Fergie put him there. He made his name as a striker, thats where he should play tbh.

Alex oxlade-chamberlain deal tempts manchester united
saints-cris replied to wireframebox's topic in The Saints
FootballAgentPM Peter Morrison One in for #mufc & one is definitely going out before the wkd. Seen as most of you already seem to know everything no need to tell you! Phil Jones form Blackburn in.. Must be Brown to us then -

Anyone suggesting Brown would be rubbish is a moron. He would be by far one of the best defenders in the championship and is quite frankly way out of our league.
