I have been saying this since we reached 45 points. I have to agree also, that we have made some poor signings in terms of a striker. I would add that Pelle and Long are good to have on the bench, if we need to isx things up. Perhaps we expected JayRod back sooner, if so it was a hell of a gamble and still is !

I just think RK is being a little more realistic as to our ambitions. Each year we remain in the Premier league is a successful season. I always thought that our plan was to be a self sustaining solid mid table premier team ? Getting into Europe could actually be a poison chalice as we do not have the squad depth to cope with Europe and the premier league. It is bad enough with the Cup competitions, which we would be better to leave at the first opportunity !

In that case, let's be thankful we cannot be relegated.

Again, not the end of the world. I am sure RK will be aware of our faults. To some extent, I would forget about this season and start building for a solid campaign next season.

Some sense spoken here. TBH I will not be disappointed if we fail to get in the 'poison chalice' of the Europa League. Far more important to start building for next year, including blooding some of our younger players. Next season could be a hard season and it is essential we don't slump into the relegation zone next year.

I agree with this. Some people need to get a bit of perspective. We are in the top 6 just coming into March. We are not going to be relegated, which was a very real fear at the start of the season. If we don't get into Europe, it is not the end of the world. I would be inclined to rest some of the senior players and play some of the younger players. Also, we can spend some time searching out new players to replace the ones we are going to lose. If you think about it, and look at the bigger picture, we are having a great season. We must not let the last 4 or 5 results get us down !

I honestly think we are happy to finish the season mid table. Motivation has gone and that's the difference.

Agreed. We should beat WBA with that team. Also, the team need to loosen up and enjoy things a bit more. Can't help that they have buckled being in the top 4 and the prerssure should be off now. I expect a mixed bag of results as we become a more open and relaxed side. Think we will finish 8th or 9th, which is an amazing achievement !

Once we were safe there was inevitably going to be a dip in form. After, our main target of 'staying up' had been achieved. We need to start building for next season and experimenting with the games that we have left.
