Agreed, but we were very lucky and we could have ended up in the same Div as 'them'.
-
People may not have warmed to Hoddle as a person, but most agreed he was the best person to take us through what was fast becoming a difficult time for the club. Hoddle had done well for us in the past, the players wanted him back and they did NOT want Sturrock.
-
Yes, but we were declining rapidly and Sturrock was out of his depth. It was soon evident in the 2004-5 season that the board had made a mistake by caving in to the vocal few. I am making sure that this sorry episode is never forgotten and I will not let the vocal few airbrush from history the part in this sorry saga.
-
I'm not, but he was a much better choice than Sturrock. However, the vocal minority spooked the board and our rapid decline followed.
-
Indeed, had we appointed Hoddle in 2004 instead of Sturrock we most likely would have stayed up.

I get your point, but if we did not rehabilitate him, he would be worth nowt. Morally, I would suggest that he should stay, even if just for a season. -
Surely the blue few have a chance ?
-
Yes, that could be it.
-
Maybe to do with footy stickers and youth.
-
I know. We should have stayed at the Dell.
-
I suppose so, but they always seem to me to be one of the old traditional clubs.
-
Hopefully not for another 50 years or so.

Strange team, Stoke. On their day they can beat anyone, but they are not consistent. A team that likes to think itself as one of the big clubs, but manly based on its pre 1970's history.
-
Bournemouth will need a 17th strategy if they go up. Time for me to transfer over.
-
I dream of mid table obscurity, but I am satisfied with 17th. Getting into Europe gives me the jitters.
-
They may do better than you think and we may have a more traditional season ourselves, in which case the rivalry could become quite heated.
-
Tired, he is getting to the end of the season. Whatever happnens, this has been a successful season, but I bet Koeman has already started planning for next season and he is aware of the need for strengthening particularly in terms of goal scoring. Also, getting into Europe will be a burden with very little value in return. I would take mid table obscurity in an instant if it was handed to me now.

The 1980's and 1990's were the golden era days. It all went wrong when we moved to SMS.

Afternoon. See your tracking device is still working.
-
Option 1. How about Option 4. Allow Swansea to finish 7th and we finish 8th. Then, we can concentrate on the league without any distractions.
-
Call it what you like but don't expect any players coming in until 15 minutes from the end of the transfer window.
-
In which case, we may as well get rid of two of those keepers.
-
Yes, we are a canny lot.
-
I would say we are very much a mid table team that had a good start to the season. Our play reflects this.

Fair point, but i would imagine that he will be brought on for the last 15 minutes of a game that is 'comfortably' won or lost in order to acclimatise him in readiness for next season. We do not have to risk him as we are not in a relegation scrap.
