Managers going back to spiritual homes ? I thought Glenn Hoddle was unique in doing this ?
-
If true, this could only confirm a place at Saints for next season. Good news indeed !
-
It is no secret that I would like to see Hoddle back at the club. He could be very useful in a coaching position.
-
No, no, no. Lowe's mistake was to appoint Sturrock instead of Glenn Hoddle in 2004. For once he listened to the fans, what he didn't realise was this was a vocal minority. It is ironic that when he most needed to stick yo his guns, he actually acceeded.

Nothing wrong with a bit of local rivalary.
-
Hmmm, can't imagine what you mean.
-
Mind you, he cannot ever be our Saints manager of the future after what he has done.

Alpine can e objective. CBFRY is a different matter altogether. Never admits to being in the wrong. The most arrogant poster on this site.
-
Silver lining is that increases Leeds chances of going up. Would like them to be out of the way for next year.
-
One big incentive for players to stay at Saints is our ambition and intent. This is genuine and backed by ambitious owners.
-
Eight points, tantalisingly close, but running out of games.
-
Nobody who is a true supporter wants us mto lose.
-
BTW who thinks Glasgow Saint has become obsessed and deluded about AP losing his job at Saints ? IMO Glasgow is fast losing what little credibility he had in the first place.
-
Norway & Sweden would be a possibility.
-
Seem to remember people saying in October we would walk all over them.

Burnley v Citeh. Would you leave early if it was Saints?

At the time Hoddle was a much better option than Sturrock. However, the real point is why appoint Sturrock, why ? We were at the time a relatively stable Prem club with 26 years in the top flight. When we needed an experienced manager with status, we appointed Wurzel. Our doom was assured from that point onwards. I think most Saints fans were expecting the appointment of Hoddle and were totally underwhelmed at the appointment of Sturrock. As for the fans who helped to block Hoddle's appointment, they quickly melted into the background and have since done their best to bury this episode in our clubs history. It must not happen. -

It makes me laugh that some of you think that the appointment of Brian Laws was a bizzare appointment to a small time club in its first year in the Premiership. Well consider this, we employed a League 1 manager with NO experience of the Premiership other than when he was given a ticket to sit in the stands. Moreover, we chose him over a very successful ex England and Saints manager. I ask you ? Makes you wonder. -
CBFRY, for all our sake keep out of the Saints Social Club, as most of us don't want to hear your arrogant droning ons.
-
I agree with that. We were extremely lucky ! Never want to be in that situation again. The fall was rapid and harsh, right from the day that Sturrock was appointed.
-
We will get a bit closer, but ultimately run out of games.
-
You would be hard pushedm to find a better coach or tactician. Could work well with AP

As I said the other day. Glenn Hoddle would be a good choice.
