Mid table ad survival has always been the priority of the Board. I have been telling you that for years. When we got European football there was no real intent to invest in the Europa club, it was not profitable. The Champions league would be too much of an investment. Saints are at best, a mid table club, with an occasional good season and maybe a Cup run.

I think people have a good point when they say that although we finished 8th last season, there were obvious deficiencies that were not addressed and the performances were not as strong as the previous year. Evidence of a slide. Getting away from the statistics, the slide started slowly and was not steep, but it began to gather pace this season because it was not properly addressed. IMO there were a host of reasons for this and some could be traced back quite a long time. Statistics alone do NOT ell the whole story.

It is also extremely frustrating to think that 3 wins maybe enough to keep us up...17th would be enough in this nightmare season.

Yep, complacency is dangerous. I have said that many times and it hasn't happened just over this season. Last season in particular, gave a false sense of security. Finished8th, but it was by a fine margin and playing poorly.

TBH, we could do with a 'mass exodus' if we go down. Rebuild the team with a new manager.

Evidence: Good spirit on the pitch, togetherness, working together, not giving up, a clear strategy. All the things Saints lack at the moment. Depressing but true.

Bang on. Not obvious to see but the signs were there. Uncomfortable for many at the time, but yes, they were there if you looked carefully.
