More news tonight...maybe...perhaps
SaltashSaint replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
Is it just me or is anyone else starting to get a little bit peeved off with this whole 'announcement'? It's 10pm and still no news. It had better be good when it finally arrives!! -
It is a beautiful day down here in Plymouth with the sun shining - the perfect day for Saints to all but clinch promotion. So looking forward to the game. I am very confident about claiming the three points today and although I don't expect it to be easy with Argyle battling to stay up, I am sure our class will prevail in the end. Enjoy the game everyone and hope to see you all jumping up and down with me and my two kids come full-time!

You can buy tickets for the home end on the day and there are no requirements (aside from wearing your colours, etc!).

Rochdale V Southampton - Second Half Thread

It doesn't matter if we don't get any from our games in-hand - we still stay second unless we get hammered! -
Rochdale V Southampton - Second Half Thread
SaltashSaint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
If we do lose tonight (which looks highly likely) it is not the time to panic. We will still have a game in-hand on Huddersfield and will still have our future in our own hands. There is no doubt that the diamond didn't work in the first half and Adkins will have to take the responsibility for that, but at least we are having a real go at Rochdale now. The fact is that we are still in the driving seat despite tonight's loss and we all have to stay strong and calm and support the team all the way until the last kick of the season. I am still confident we will hold onto second spot. -
Saints v MK Dons,1st half & half time chat...
SaltashSaint replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
These final 10 games are as much as about character and bottle as they are talent and ability. I believe we have the latter two qualities, but do we have the former? I damn well hope so. The fact is though, despite defeat today, it is still in our hands. We need to get a grip big time though, starting against Charlton on Tuesday. -
I really don't think we (or anyone else) can catch Brighton now, but a draw for Huddersfield and defeat for Bompey would be very welcome!
-
I have it on good authority that this game will not be taking place due to international call-ups. I live just outside Plymouth, so was desperate to go, but have just discovered from a very reliable source that the game will have to be re-arranged.

I always use this link for anything broadcast on Sky Sports - http://www.everythingon.tv I watched the Ashes series on here and there were no problems. It is totally free!!

I was at the Exeter match and I thought Seaborne produced a good performance. His distribution needs working on - as it does with most central defenders - but he won pretty much everything in the air and he reads the game superbly. He is by no means the finished article, but with a few more games under his belt, he is going to be a very capable defender. Selling him would make no sense to me.

Online ticketing problems for Exeter match
SaltashSaint replied to SaltashSaint's topic in The Saints
Forget that (sorry Mods!). Finally, at the 22nd attempt (yes, I was counting), my order has been placed. COYS! -
Hi all I am travelling down from Cornwall on Saturday to watch the Saints (hopefully) beat Exeter City. However, every time I try and buy myself and my daughter a ticket, it says that the website is unable to connect to the payment processor. Just wondered if anyone else is experiencing problems or is it just me?! Thanks

Flippin' Saints Player still not working. Thank god for this information!!!

Only just seen this news and have to say what a massive disappointment if true. Atkins may be able to get us out of League One - to be fair, any decent manager should this season - but what then? Is he the type of manager who will be able to attract the right sort of players required if we are to continue progressing with the ultimate aim of re-establishing ourselves as a steady Premier League outfit? There is no doubting he has done well at S****horpe where there is little pressure to succeed - more about just keeping the club afloat. But I am worried how he will cope with the expectation levels of Mr Cortese and the club. For me (if this is correct) this is a massive opporyunity wasted by the club.
-
'young, english and with success on the CV already' That narrows it down I guess. The people who fit into that mould are: Howe Mowbray (at 45 he is still comparatively young for a manager) Grayson Hill Clarke Pearson Tilson Brown Adkins Is it just me or do neither one of those excite me as a Saints supporter one bit?
-
Judging by the lack of excitement from all those people who know about the impending appointment, are we to assume that the 'new man' is not much better than Pardew?
-
What an absolute shambles we are! No cohesion, no understanding and a total lack of confidence, both individually and collectively. We take off the only player (Chamberlain) who looked anything like creating anything decent and are a team at the moment with a distinct lack of ideas and creativity. Any chances we do produce are constantly wasted by abject finishing. As a club, we are paying the price for failing to build on the momentum created by Alan Pardew last season. We needed another striker, another wide player and another central midfielder and managed to get neither of them! The decision to get ride of Pardew was a joke in my opinion. After today (I am watching the live stream in Cornwall) that decision is quite simply unbelievable. Whoever comes in has a huge job to do.

Not sure if this will work, but found this via google. Copy and paste and hopefully this will come up with something later!! http://www.narutoanyar.com/live-southampton-vs-ajax-amsterdam-180709-1500

Sky Sports News: Stoke in for Lallana and Surman.
SaltashSaint replied to derry's topic in The Saints
I know that Stoke have been scouting Andrew Surman for the past month or so. Their scout David Kemp has been at matches and from what I hear he has been impressed by what he has seen. I know nothing about Lallana going there though.
