Does he always look so chunky or is that an unflattering picture? Looks like he needs the Adkins diet asap!
-
TBF our results have been poor when we play Hammond, Cork and Morgan. Not critising NA though, we have 4 first teamers out and a couple more only just coming back from injury..what else is he supposed to do?
-
Unlike Alpine to overreact about something he's neither seen or heard.
-
Great pep talk Alpine, I'm sure it will make all the difference!

A success would be getting in the right players as identified by the management without distrupting the ethos and harmony within the squad. Not what some sad gob****e on a football forum considers successful. We are top scorers in the league and our two strikers are in the top 5 scorers in the league....so I don't see the need to sign two more strikers. More important is getting the midfield dynamic back which has been one of the biggest reasons for our success to date. This, IMO is more essential than the transfer window.

In your opinion.

Seems like a fitting tribute to me

Why can't we just let football be football and for anyone that cares/have a connection with such events, let them remember in their own ways?
-
The UI is just a SWF scrap heap. For the old, tired and washed up.
-
I'm not fussed either, hasn't achieved anything of note and not worth breaking the wage structure just to get him. He's probably only marginally better than an Ormerod or Barnard.
-
It's a bit narrow minded to look at a month over a course of half a season and speculate as to whether a striker would have made any difference. You could just as easy speculate that having too many players to bed in would have hindered us over a longer period, considering we have very specific systems and set plays and a tight nit group of players, therefore being worse off as of today...who knows? I think the club want quality but are also trying to find players with the "right" attitude who can also fit into the exisiting wage structure. This will inevitably make getting someone who ticks all the boxes in harder but I think the approach is fair to the players who have got us to where we are and is a more sustainable way of progressing in the long run.
-
Exactly this. The whole "we'd be better off had we signed X Y or Z in the summer" theory is just pie in the sky none sense really. Another consideration is this... Has Sharp or Maynard or whoever else done enough to merit walking straight into the squad after breaking the wage structure and being top earner over those who have got us to where we are in the first place? I'm sure this is a big consideration for the management when looking at a transfer.

The only people who get annoyed with MLG are those who spout crap and get corrected by his often more informed knowledge. They are more than happy to listen though when they want to know about specifics and he knows the answer. As for Alpine, there is no point to this thread at all. He has very limited knowledge of football, is constantly predicting imminent doom and simply doesn't or cannot debate. He only has himself to blame for all of the things he is complaining about in this thread.
-
Well Adkins said exactly that didn't he?
-
As much as I love him, not Adam. I can imagine him pea rolling it straight at the keeper! My shout would be DC if he was on. Unless it leads to him tearing a hamstring or something.... So maybe captain Hammond then...
-
It was quite comical earlier in the season when during his "transformation" he was telling others off for being too negative! He always goes off the rails after a defeat. His reaction after the palace cup game was ridiculous. This run of bad form though has completely scrambled his brains!
-
Where did you hear this?

You would have thought that Apline and the like would learn thier lesson by now. Wasn't he peddling out the same messages this time last year? I've not be disappointed in any transfer window since the new regime. We've always strengthened, all be it a little more gradually than some of our fans base can understand and appreciate. You don't take a team from near the bottom of League 1 to the top of the Championship in a little over a year by accident. It's down to the management and the players knowing what they are doing. I can't believe that you're know sticking the boot in to Hammond for daring not to let the bad run of form get him or the team down. Well actually I can believe it as it's happened time and time again.
-
Not really, no one has more points than us and no one has scored more goals. Their faith in the squad until now has been repaid. Complain all you want come 1st Feb but there is nothing to suggest that they won't be working hard to bring in a couple of players in this window. The fact that we've been working on the signing of the Japanese striker for some time disproves your point anyway.
-
Listen to any manager and they will tell you that January is the hardest month to do business. If you want to sign top QUALITY, clubs are reluctant to let players go, fee's are OTT and players themselves don't want to uproot half way through a season. Sticking the boot in to NC and NA from your ivory tower in Austria on 2nd January is just bizarre.
-
The point is, why are you telling us what other clubs are doing when they are signing kids on loan which is an easy deal to conclude quickly. Do you want us to sign quality or just sign players for the sake of it? Football isn't as simple as waving a magic wand, signing a couple of players on 1st of Jan and then start winning again immediately.
-
So you think that Wilson, Button or whoever would improve our squad? I bet you've never heard of those players before you and searching BBC sport or wherever to prove your point.
-
Alpine you are a lunatic. You know NOTHING about football as has been made evidently clear over the years now. You always go off the rails after a defeat, it's like ground hog day on here sometimes.

The wrist slashers on the match thread
Dig Dig replied to The Majestic Channon's topic in The Saints
I find the term "happy clapper"extremely offensive. I had a friend who clapped himself to death in 2005. -
Got to give a big mention to NC. Press releases like these really show what an outstanding job he is doing
