What exactly points to us having no money? You can't on the one hand complain that we are spending (relative to us historically) big money on players who you don't feel are contributing enough and then speculate that we have no money. In addition, we would be stripped of our main player assests and you would see little and no investment in infrastructure when in fact we see the opposite. The evidence only points one way, and it isn't towards us having no money.

I seriously doubt that it's Cortese choice either. The majority of clubs in the league could face a relegation battle or the prospect of one throughout a season and these clubs will always prioritise the league. A few are chasing Champions League gold and rest won't be going all out to make an extra £700K above all else.

Should have gone down the route of enquiring why he was deemed fit to ref at Goodison and the pressure of the environment lead to him not giving us at least one of two penalty shouts. Also can add two pens against us which weren 't and requested that he doesn't ref us just like Everton did. If they are allowed to request such things, why can't anyone else?

Surely there have been better examples to use though in terms of creating a bit of an edge and no need to involve a player?
