  1. Keep him. If he can keep his head down and carry on working hard. Much more effective than sdr
  2. He's done my head in pretty much from word go, give or take the opening few weeks when he showed some promise. He looked to be bright, intelligent and took up good positions. UUnfortunately that seems to have been a false dawn as he's nothing of the sort. Lots of pace which gets the crowd up, but that's it. For a winger his end product and decision making is horrendous, Adkins has even said as much as he tried to play him through the middle, but he was equally ineffective there. Hes been a real disappointment for me and pretty much underwhelms in every game he plays. His lack of appearances suggests Adkins thinks the same. We need to replace him as a priority.
  3. Well they've not made a very good job of making it pubic, as there isn't anything, anywhere.
  4. I see people are snapshoting a single performance again, and deciding that's that. You cannot do that, you need to look at the bigger picture. Both are very good young keepers, they will both make absolute howlers and bad decisions. Both are probably at the same level at the moment, but it'll be Interesting to see who goes further.
  5. On twitter Nixon has responded to someone pretty much saying ''Don't rule it out, NC wants a sexy signing''
  6. It's 15m euro's, and apparently he will sign for L'Pool over the weekend. Out of our league anyway. He was one of the few decent players in the GB game the other night, he was the one that smashed that rocket against the bar from 30 yards.
  7. He's a bit too good for us in our current stance. Give us a few more years in the PL then maybe...
  8. that would be an insane signing.
  9. Interesting post, because I thought it sounded slightly different at the Ajax game - maybe affected by the crowd (But it's always sounded worse with less people before...). But it sounded clearer, and more full from what I coudl tell. It wouldn't surprise me if they've gone the whole hog and as well as the new screens, have also purchased a new sound system (which dacktronics also bundle in with the screens). I thought the new screens looked absolutely superb btw, not many comments on them so far, but the quality was top notch.
  10. He's pretty **** IMO. Slow, with the turning rate of a tanker. He wasn't even that great for them in their promotion season from the NPC.
  11. Great way to add to the debate.
  12. Would agree with that. It only takes a quick watch back at our season videos from Aug > Nov to see how bloody influential Guly actually was, he was class during those opening months. Chaplow was also good in those opening months, but what people seem to forget is that he started as a substitute and only really started to make people sit up with his substitute appearances. Guly was key in every one of our 4 wins on the bounce. His performances against Boro stand out, but he didn't feature enough for me after that.
  13. Hard to make a judgement like that at the moment. I personally think both are very good young keepers with enormous potential, too early to say who will end up being the better of the 2 - they're both no where near the finished article yet.
  14. That's the one, got the games the wrong way round...doh.
  15. Davies? Do you mean the new GK that was on trial with the development squad? And it won't be buttner, that's dead and has been so for weeks. I'm sure of it. (hope I'm proved wrong, but can't see it happening now.)
  16. You don't need to wait for it to know the content ''Fantastic weeks training, we're in a good place. Good bunch of professionals'' ''Bristol City will be a good test for us, will be looking to give players a bit longer in terms of building up fitness'' ''We're working hard behind the scenes to bring in new additions, we do it sensibly behind the scenes and only comment when it's done'' End conference.
  17. Can't see anything he's said about a press conf. and if it is a press call, I'd imagine it's for the Bristol City game on Saturday.
  18. Butland looks absolutely outstanding.
  19. That's worrying if they say that, when the system it's self says ''A new password has been sent to your email address. Please change your password immediately once you've logged in".
  20. I'm having exactly the same problem. Wouldn't log me in y/day with my normal password (Which I had firefox store) - thought that was odd. So i reset it, the one in the email doesn't work either. Not a great experience from this so far. Bloody thing.
  21. In my opinion their appraoch for Caroll is just to please fans, I don't think there's any real intent to make it happen from either side. - I doubt it will happen I don't necessarily think a ''massive'' signing is what we'll do, we'll go for young quality, with potential - but genuine potential, i.e potential internationals. As long as we kind of consolidate thus year, once all our potential matures, we're laughing. It's all about taking it steady, rather than rushing out and buying big this summer.
  22. I think it'll be obvious to most who they are . (hence why this thread was started!)
  23. TBF this won't happen, but he's exactly the sort of CB I think we lack. Physical, powerful and pacey. The guy from Rennes (I think?) is supposed to be in a similar mold.
  24. Looking good now. GB are also currently beating Uruguay 1-0 @ HT, and they only need a draw to progress as group winners.
  25. Some good points raised here and I'd like to add my 2 pence. This is a great forum with many terrific contributors who all have great understanding of the game (and at the end of the day, this is what it's about - A football forum!). As people have stated the issues occur when ''certain posters'' (We don't need to name them) add their sarcastic/witty replies to pretty sensibly started threads. More often than not it's a thread from MLG. I can understand why he gets on peoples nerves somtimes, but the amount of abuse and to a degree, bullying, he has had to put up with recently is out of order. The bloke is a saints fan, who is positive and passionate about our future, yet for some reason he's not allowed to be and a nice positive discussion about stadium improvements, training ground improvements etc gets eaten up by sarcastic and witty remarks which go round and round in a circle. I think it's obvious when these threads are going to go down that route, so maybe the mods need to catch these early before they descend into the mass sarcastic contest they become. Don't get me wrong, the mods do a decent job here as it is - but maybe we need a few more to hit this current issue? At the end of the day we all have opinions and there are some very good posters here that will slowly start to fade away if a certain group are allowed to continue taking over every thread with their drivel.
