I think he could do a job for a Barnsley-like team, but some fans need to be aiming their expectations a hell of a lot higher! We've got some fans who have it too high, and some who have expectations too low! Meet us in the middle somewhere...
-
Exactly, just because he played in the SPL he's been shrugged at. I'd bet you any money that Rangers (or even Celtic) would have beaten us last year (when they still had their team).
-
Craine is not good enough for the PL, why would you even suggest it?? I don't give a **** if he's free, I'd sh!t myself if he ever got into a PL starting lineup for us. Gone are the days when we fill the squad up with players who aren't good enough, just to 'make up'' the numbers.

LOL @ some of the Man Utd fans comments in that thread, they haven't got a scooby have they? In reply to Norbert Bugeja, Gzira Malta - Ronaldo is not playing because he is going backwards, when did he last score a goal (one that was relavant) or even delevered the created a goal, Hardly ever, I would sell him tommorow.
-
In fact, he didn't fail in the premier league. That's just a silly non-educated comment to make. He was outstanding for Villa as a young player, and as keeps being mentioned, he was being linked to some decent clubs during that time. Villa fans were stunned and shocked that he was sold for £6m to Fulham, but Fulham didn't see the best of him because they had a clueless manager in charge and then followed it with a succession of managers, that's not an environment to thrive really. He's gone to Rangers, who are one of the biggest clubs in Britain and became their captain on the pitch. That's not to be shrugged at, and for a club of our level and where we've come from, this is a pretty impressive deal to make. Sometimes I wonder just who some fans expect us to sign.
-
He was, that's the one. Very highly rated when he was at Villa, was pretty good when he played too. I believe Fulham then paid £6m for him, and it didn't quite work out there as they had a succession of managers. He then went and made a name for himself in the SPL.
-
To be fair, they don't seem to give a **** about what goes on there these days. Got to feel sorry for them really, an enormous club just ripped apart.
-
Chuffed with that singing, a real big one for a club that's just been promoted IMO.
-
Steve Davis it is.
-
I reckon it's a double signing.
-
Sounds like a double signing could be imminent.
-
Well it'll probably be harding or dickson then.
-
in an emergency I'd imagine, he's not replacing Hammond.
-
Why? Buttner is a LB/Left midfielder...Hammond is a CM.
-
Sounds like an excellent signing if I'm honest, we've beaten some decent clubs to this one.
-
All the best. Hope you make a strong recovery! All those years of watching Saints doesn't help the condition of the heart either!

Where would he play though? Lee, Lambert, Rodriguez, Sharp, Guly......... I'm more happy that we focus on the positions that are light in quality! He's a good player, don't get me wrong, but he'd be an unnecessary signing in my opinion. -

This is Chelsea, one of the top clubs in Europe and the Champions League winners. If he hasn't looked that good for them, that doesn't mean he's not good enough for us. In fact he would walk into our team. Fact. -

That's all about keeping your options open to be honest. It doesn't mean any deal is less likely to happen today, than it was yesterday, it just means that we aren't hedging our bets and are working on alternatives should these not happen. Sensible way to work and do things, and I'm pretty confident that there is a hell of alot going in behind the scenes. Not sure why people seeem to think we're doing nothing just because there aren't any rumours, which is really surprising considering how we've acted over the past few years - signings happen that are out of the blue alot of the time. -
England up to 4th in FIFA world rankings

So surprised to see how far down Brazil are. Is this the lowest they've ever been in the 'Fifa' Rankings? To be fair, they definitely don't seem to be producing players of the same level of Ronaldo, Ronaldiono, Cafu, Carlos, Rivaldo etc. Neymar is probably their star name at the mo, but you don't see clubs from all over Europe rushing to buy their players these days - they seem to be snapped up by Russian clubs primarily these days. -
Dickson is a L1 left back in all honesty, might do a job for a club like Barnsley in the champ - but I can't see him above that level, and I think Crainey is better (not by much, as he isn't great) than Dickson and possibly Harding.
-
Well exactly, they've just got into this so unprepared and obvlious as to what to expect. What does this booking fee pay for exactly? I don't usually moan about stuff like this, but so many people are hitting the same obstacles and they're not just little obstacles either. You'd have thought with a brand new system we'd have a fresh start, but quite clearly the old booking system wasn't the main problem as the one entity carrying over is the ticket office staff and management.
-
The farce just gets better. I hope nc reads this, the entire process and team needs a shake from thee ground up. It's all incompetent
-
Harding and Dickson will leave. Shaw is not ready to be a fully fledged regular and fox needs real competition. He doesn't have that
-
Acccording to a ticket guy on the phone when I rung earlier, they're not doing instalments this year. Fail. I hung up at that stage. Will try again tomorrow if I get a chance. No response as yet from my email
