  1. It came from one of their club spokesman on twitter.
  2. It's alot of money, but it's what you have to pay for top english prospects. There's no getting away from that. Was Chambo worth £16m when we sold him? Probably not, no - but he's proven to be a shewed signing in the end. Was Wickham worth the £12m that Sunderland paid? No, probably not. He hasn't really had the impact either as yet, but mainly down to injury. At the end of the day young English players = inflated fee's, so if you want them you have to pay over the odds. We'll be getting a future England international though IMO. Ask most Burnley fans who watch him every week and they think we're getting him for a steal.
  3. Really odd move for Lambert if true.
  4. Doubtful. Everton have spent their cash in January, and it took a fair bit of wheeling and dealing to make that money available to Moyes. I'd be very surprised if Everton spend more than £5m on another player in this window. And Villa are in total limbo, doubt they even have any transfer targets. We're in pole position, it's just up to Jay.
  5. Arsenal were the only confirmed team, Napoli was just a random forum rumour. Could well be Ajax I guess, but we did play them a few years ago. I remember a certain Saurez scoring a hat-trick.
  6. Have heard today that the entire deal/package could earn Burnley up to £10m. It's £7m up front, guaranteed. Rest is on all sorts of clauses. Chaplow isn't part of a swap, but Burnley have enquired about taking one of our midfielders. That's all I know on it. He's back from holiday on Monday apparently, but I still think this will drag for a long long time yet.
  7. Neither did sharp to be fair, but $$$$ talks and I assume he'll take a big rise by moving here. Bit unambitious if he doesn't want to move though, he's got the potential to be top class but he needs to move to realise that.
  8. Nah, it will drag on and on and on and on. Probably weeks and weeks until we have anything concluded.
  9. Ah ok - cool. Just catching up on all the developments myself...all over BBC, Sky sports etc. So it's definetley happening, just need to get the player to decide. Got a feeling this will drag and drag though.
  10. What worries me about Dann is that he only seemed to work well with Roger Johnson, but I do think that Dann was the better defender out of the 2.
  11. Where has that come from?
  12. For £1m that's a bit of a steal to be honest. Not sure we'd go for Rodriguez and Yakubu though.
  13. I don't think it's a pure swap deal. Once we complete the Rodriguez deal Burnley can then talk to Chaplow, but they have to also pay a fee for him.
  14. We have much more than £5m available to spend, which has been confirmed by Burnley's acceptance of our £7m bid.
  15. You'd think the local journo's have a few closer sources, so the fact that they brought this out first and are now confirming it kind of adds a bit more weight to it.
  16. He's probably spending his premiership bonus on a nice new pad.
  17. Rodriguez is exactly the type of transfer we'd make. Young, Hungry and British. I'd be stunned if we signed any old has-beens this year.
  18. Check out his goals. He's got a bit of everything.
  19. According to the Journo twitter, we never had a bid accepted last year. We went in with a couple but they wanted a bit more each time, this is the most progress we've made. And please let us get rid of that flaming Delap transfer record.
  20. *IF* the rumours have been true we've been after a CM anyway, what with our interest in that Spanish midfielder. and to be fair, Hammond should get his crack. A fair few people said he wouldn't make the step up to the championship, but he did bloody well.
  21. I'd have said our targets from day 1 have been: GK, CB CM ST and RW Losing chappers doesn't change that, so it's possible he's on the fringes anyway.
  22. Well according to the journo on twitter, no one will top our offer. ''Huge'' offer and £6.5m is only the start of it apparently. If he wants to play for England he'll need to leave Burnley, no disrespect to them...but he'll have to show some ambition and make the break.
  23. Better player too, IMO.
  24. The bloke who wrote that article is also on twitter, it's more than 6.5m - that's just the up front fee. We've also apparently offered mega dosh to Jay. People might look at it and say it's an obscene amount of money, but in the grand scheme of things these days - it isn't. And we're buying a future England international centre forward in my opinion.
  25. Looks like it's moved a step closer. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-agree-a-fee-for-jay-rodriguez-851590
