  1. There have been more positive deceive moments than negative, but I'm not surprised at the people focusing on the negative moments. For me, Leeds away was a huge, huge win. Millwall away was a giant victory. WHU at home was a terrific win. The point at WHU was well earned and deserved, after we came back from 1-0 down. There have been many many moments this season where we've pulled the rabbit out of the bag to a certain extent. There are more positives than negatives this year, and in the buildup to one of our biggest ever games I struggle to understand why certain individuals seem intent on focusing on the negative.
  2. A nice positive post from a Bristol City fan, this should ease the nerves somewhat.
  3. Don't tell me, Alpine is wrong again?
  4. This. Everything is in our favour. Points, goals scored, goal difference, head to head, opposition, home record....etc etc.
  5. A very optimistic and somewhat follish hammer. I think at the very very best Saints will draw with Coventry. So that means we need to bang a few goal in to make sure we better their goal difference.
  6. I remember that, but in reality it was all over on the final day. There was never ever going to be an 18 or 19 goal swing, and I think they actually rested a few of their players iirc.
  7. I think after seeing him just coast through games for 18 months, it comes as a bit of a shock to see him struggle - but he's not up against John Macken anymore, he's up against Maynard, Cole, Beckford etc...a complete step up, so he was never going to look as good as he had for the past 18 months. He's still been one of the reasons we've amassed 19 clean sheets though.
  8. It's about a million times bigger than that game.
  9. BBC Solent Sport ‏ @solentsport #saintsfc v Coventry on saturday has been selected for live commentary on BBC television
  10. Exactly, that's what we're all getting at. Not big trophies, no, but notable trophies which show our rise through the leagues.
  11. It's a huge playoff final really, winner takes all. Our biggest game for decades. This will be our best chance to get into the premier league for a long, long, long time and we need to grab it with both hands.
  12. What was the first thing NC said when he took us over? I remember Adam Blackmore (I think? or another BBC reporter) going around St Mary's with him and he said ''That trophy cabinet is rather bare, we need to sort that out" Well in 3 years we've added 3 to it.....amazing 3 years to be a saints fan.
  13. Don't think I could do that! I put a bet on last night because it was kind of win-win, if WHU win I pocket £160 odd (oh yes!) and we have it in our hands on the last day....but if they didn't win, I lose 60 but we'd have had a premiership team! Betting on this weekend would be too much for me...
  14. We do still get a trophy for 2nd tbf, albeit a little thing.
  15. I think we could all relax at that point and plan for our trips to Old Trafford next year.
  16. That's a big plus from this game, the fact that the GD remains pretty much untouched. It's a slim advantage but it's still a decent advantage and WHU need to do alot more than us to win their game. We can win 1-0 and job done. Hull have one of the best defensive records in the league, so I can't see this being a drumming. As long as we don't lose I think we'll be ok, but to be honest if we don't win this one it will be a criminal offence.

    Nugent

Their front 2 are on a combined wage of around 45k p/w (Beckford 30k, nudget around 15k). Painful waste of money. Then you've got Mills, 30k p/w and £5/6m and he doesn't even play!
  18. Cov fan on their injuries: Our injury situation? Err mmm. Deegan- injured, Clingan - injured, Hermann - injured, Christie- injured, Wood- injured, Cameron - injured, Bell - injured, Nimely -injured, Keogh - suspended.
  19. You will give us a right hiding so don't lose any sleep over us. We only have one away win all season and that is not about to change on Saturday. As for Nimely he is out injured along with just about everyone else, the bench will be made up of kids without a first team game between them. So thats Nimley out as well.
  20. We will win this trophy
  21. We're not as good without him. I'd say your discription above relates to De Ridder more than Chaplow.
  22. Lambert will score a hat-trick to hit 30 league goals in the championship.
  23. Not sure how you make Chaplow being out as a positive.

    Iago Falque

He's not good enough, he looked like a little boy lost in his first 45mins. and that's why we've seen the last of him. Obviously he's offered nothing in training, otherwise he'd have been on the bench a couple of times. It was a gamble we made when Lallana had a knock, but luckily he came back quickly and then we obviously had the return of Puncheon - something else we didn't expect when we signed him. He's been decent for the development team though and probably offers decent tests on the training field for our defenders.
  25. I can't see that coming, no.
