Reason we're on the brink of 2 successive promotions? The team. Fonte has been part of that team. Support him.

If we get promoted will we have bus tour around city?

Nope - fair point, they are hoping for alot to happen in order for them to finish 2nd - the fixtures have fallen very nicely for us it has to be said. This week will drag though, I just want to be there on Saturday to experience what is going to be a pretty big moment in our history.
-
Don't get your hopes up for tomorrow....it will only lead to a horrible deflated feeling when WHU win comfortably, which I think they will. We will need to do the biz on Saturday.

He does work hard, but he also contributes to our shape and we have a really flexible and dynamic system when he's in the team. When he's not we are very static and predictable.

Don't think we will. If we won the league then maybe, but having an open top parade for coming 2nd is a little OTT. I don't think Cortese is the kind of guy to go for Open top bus parades either. Maybe when we win the champions league... -
- Your guess is as good as mine, it had all the pundits confused after listening back on TV too. Crazy decision. - Richardson is injured, and has been carrying a knock for a few weeks now (same with a few of our lads I fear). - He may have got his positioning slightly wrong in this one, it was a great free kick though to be fair. - Guly has done more than De Ridder and Puncheon this season, that's why.

Just seen that Coventry city's CB - Keogh got sent off in the last game, so that's their player of the season out for our game. They only have a 16 year old kid that can replace him.

It is a great effort and it will be a great achievement, but the players Pardew bought in L1 were with this in mind IMO....we kind of built for this level in L1, but still it's a wonderful achievement with what we're doing and Adkins has managed it superbly - but I still think Pardew should take a bit of credit in it. I find it mad that we have fans saying things like ''Sack davis and Fonte, not good enough'' - they quite clearly are, as they've shown all season long. We're a good team but we will need to add to it if we are to make a mark in the premiership, and I'm sure Adkins and Co know that - and I'd imagine work goes on right now identifying ambitious targets to match our ambitious chairman. Next Saturday will be magic and who'd have thought, 2 years ago we beat Southend at home on the last day to achieve 7th in L1 - 2 years on we need to beat Coventry at home to regain a place in the premier league. A remarkable rise and lots of people need to take credit for it. It's been a huge team effort.

You're right fella.. Once we're there I doubt I'll give a damn, but you know once it's not quite done it's hard to shake off the nerves and disappointments of the last 3 Saturdays on the trot!

I would take Curtis Davies in a heartbeat, or a defender of similar ilk. What I mean by that is a centre back who's nice on the ball and has a bit of pace. I don't think Dirk would give us what we need, which is pace and movement up top. He's a little too static, but he does work hard to be fair to him. What I'd look or though is pace through he heart of the team and down the flanks, we will not get anywhere next year if we have no pace on the flanks as we're way too predictable. Food and drink for top premiership teams. Hooper and Jay Rodriquez are linked with us as centre forwards, but I'm not sure they'll bring us the pace up top I think we need....Someone like victor moses in behind would be great, although maybe not too realistic.

The sooner they get rid of this clown the better for them. But their fans are still oddly blinded by past glories and are saying it's the players fault. Sorry, who brought in the dross? Players like Downing, Charlie Adam and Andy Caroll should not be playing for Liverpool. End of. the fact he spent almost 50m on them is frightening and you have to question his sanity.
-
This. Although once we finish the job I won't care! It's just a bit nerve-jangling at the mo. I keep going back to the win at Hull a few weeks ago, that night we moved 8 points clear of third and 5 pts clear of 2nd. That should have been the night that pulled us closer, but we've slipped up much more than I thought we would since then. Still, once we do it - happy days, but even though this season has been unbelievable and beyond anything I ever expected, it'll always be etched with a tinge of disappointment as we didn't win the bloody thing whilst leading the race for 80% of it.

All games on the final day kick off @ 12:30, 2 games will be on TV. One on Sky, and one on BBC - but they will be broadcast with the 12:30 kick off time too. It wouldn't be fair to have games kicking off at all sorts of times on the last day, when so much can be decided.
-
Not sure I get your logic there to be honest. Leicester have nothing to be relaxed about, they have royally cocked up this year and they all know it - so they want to end the season with a momentum to take into next year. They will not be relaxed thinking they've had a good year, far from it.
-
Well exactly, Doncaster played pretty well that day as well, yet we still had way too much for them even in 1st gear. We will be fine.
-
Stop panicking about this game. As long as we are professional we will win. I doubt we'd even need to be in full flow to be honest. They have been relegated for a reason and have the worst away record in the football league for a reason. Whereas we have one of (if not the best) home record in the football league. This is all assuming WHU will comfortably beat Leicester away too, which will not be easy as they are a very handy team in a false position based on squad size and the cost of it.
-
It's bloody frustrating, just as he was getting back to his form of early on, he's out again. This season has been a nightmare for him injury wise. The game was lost as soon as he went off, as we no longer had any drive or threat in behind the right hand side. The ballance was totally screwed from that moment.
-
Based on the offensive **** you post, I'm surprised many are so lenient with you.
-
Should be, some nice variation there was well. Bit of pace, power and your typical fox in the box type of striker. If Holt, Cole, Mackie etc can score in the premier league, then so can that batch.
-
We haven't blown it though. I really don't get why people think like this. We'll be fine.
-
In a funny way, I hope he doesn't. I want to be there when we're promoted, I don't want to watch us get promoted on the back of another teams failure - as that's what it will be billed as by Sky, and the BBC etc. ''WHU Fail, as saints go up''. If they drop points, fantastic, I'd still take it - but I'd rather we do it ourselves, which is what we should have done yesterday!!
-
Good riddance. Enjoy Oldham and Tranmere you ****s.
