Yep the guy who told me is going to get a whack round the head for that bit of mis-info.

True. I agree with the general window, it's been dead for all clubs. WHU were hoping to go megabucks spending, and even announced on their OS that they bid for 3 players....they've not added anyone yet either. So it's a frustrating time for everyone. You'd say that they have a better squad though, we're in more need of fresh additions.

He loved it tonight. Sort of player who grows in those sort of atmospheres. And he's also exactly the type of striker we need. (not that I'm saying we should sign him)

Nice one. Will give the guy I spoke to a smack round the head for mis-informing me!

Surprised at the OP of this thread, in fact totally gobsmacked. I guess you've been waiting for this moment. He's not beyond criticism and he seems a bit stubborn in this frustrating narrow midfield formation, but you cannot really ignore what he's done for us since he came here. He's got a lot of leeway before we even get slightly on his back.
-
I don't think he's even training tbh

We have no game plan without Lambert and will always struggle against the better teams. We kept hitting it long today to Guly and Connolly which was half our bloody problem.
-
Let's not write it off till the 31st, but it does look like we'll struggle to get who we want now. I hoped we'd go for it, and from NA's comments after the Cov game it sounded like everyone at the club was going to go for it. Obviously they've been put off with the money clubs want for our targets.
-
He was incredibly light weight tonight. But he was one of our better midfielders. - that says alot I guess
-
It's not just the amount of injuries, it's the players that have got them. The spine of our team has been ripped out and we're relying on players like Holmes, Forte and Fox at CB to get us through games That is not good enough at this level and we will be shown up against half decent teams, as we saw tonight.
-
It's obvious we've hit some brick walls because we only pay what feel is right, which is fair enough I guess.
-
Most teams would!
-
He's injured, fact. Done his groin, doesn't sound good either from what I heard tonight - could be quite a while.
-
When you have to play Fox at CB it shows you need additional cover for sure.
-
I'll say it again. We will not finish in the top 2!

If we play like we did tonight on a regular basis, we'll struggle to finish top 6 - let alone top 2! -
He was better than anyone else out there tonight, and he was only on for 30mins.
-
If he doesn't sign any additions we will struggle.

That was truly, truly, truly inept. The worst performance for a long long time. We were pants. There is not a single positive I can think of from tonight, not a single moment. How on earth they will put a highlights package together of that is beyond me - good luck. We had no shape, no drive, no width - we couldn't touch the ball or control it -we basically had no idea how to play football. Clueless from the word go. I think too much was read into the Forest game, we won that game because of the man advantage and the space they gave us to play. Lecister closed us down and that was that, game over. We had no idea or other option at all. Connolly and Guly as a strike force were embarrassing, Flaque looked like a lost child out there, Morgan and Hammond were utterly woeful in the middle and continuously gave the ball away. Martin was skinned down the right hand side too often, same can be said for Harding. Jos's headers went up, rather than away. The only player that resembled a footballer out there was Fox, and then De Ridder when he came on. That was not Southampton, that was a team that is missing it's spine and it showed painfully. When we have to play Fox at CB and put Holmes on in hope of getting something out of the game, it shows you don't have the depth. We need additions to this side or we will slide away if our big players are out for too much longer. A truly forgettable night. If we play like that on a regular basis we will finish a long way from the top 6.

Worried about Fonte, was rested over xmas as a precaution apparently...and is still to reappear! Must be quite a nasty injury to his toe. (he'd been playing with the injury for a while before too, so I wonder if that's made it even worse...)

PSV Director of football: Marcel Brands: "Mathias Jørgensen is coming to Eindhoven. He'll be examined, if the doc gives the green light, we'll offer a contract."
-
Nice to see that their prospective owners are professional and discreet. TBH i reckon they'll be wound up, these idiots are the only level of interest they can ever find. It's just pathetic and they need to be put out of their misery.

Unless he's made a quick recovery...this article says he's out for 9 months (dated sept 2011) http://www.goal.com/en/news/755/europe/2011/09/18/2671521/copenhagens-mathias-jorgensen-sidelined-for-up-to-nine

Not the only person to have said this. Intriguing.

The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..

TBH he'd probably still go to PSV before us.
