The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..

Yep, fair point. I reckon WHU fans are the ones feeling most downbeat regarding all this, their manager came out and said they will sign players, on the first of the month their OS had a story about how they have put in 4 bids for players....and so far we've signed more than them! (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe anyone in the top 6 has signed a player apart from Boro...and us!) -

What a totally dead window, and I'm not talking about us, I'm taking in general. Nothing has happened in any of the leagues. A few little signings here and there but barley anything has happened for any club. So we're either going to get a last day rush, or one of the quietest January windows ever. FWIW we have arguably been one of the most active clubs this window in the championship! (Falque, Lee, Hoovield) -
No one will post any feedback from it because NC has said he'll kill them if he does. Nasty man. CoC etc. (that's all said in jest btw incase NC is reading)

It's the normal pre-match press calls and no more.

Yeah, him along with Harding got automatic 1 year extensions upon promotion. Harding's deal was then extended a little longer IIRC. But he is injured unfortunately, he's had a bit of an unlucky season really. I don't think he's far away but he keeps picking up niggles and match fitness wise he's not really close to play alot of minutes I guess. I don't think we need another RB though tbh. We've got young Stephens who's a quality young player, and also Cork who can do a job there in emergencies.

NC is going for promotion this season, isnt he ?

You're really crazy sometimes ART! -
Before the games over Christmas he frustrated me, because he never seemed to produce anything. Lots of blind alleys and running into players - nothing spectacular and no real impact, it was all made even worse when Adkins revealed he doesn't see him as a wide man! But he got his chance over Christmas and IMO he took it with both hands. The palace game was the best I've seen him at home this season, and I'm not sure how others can say otherwise. He got a cracking assist and was a real outlet down the right, and finally the player that frustrated the hell out of me was producing an end product. He was also one of our better players against Bristol City, but then he got injured and his progressed stopped again. It seems that just as he starts to get a run in the team he gets injured - really frustrating. He's obviously got pace, talent, skill, but he needs to find that consistency and with a run of games I think he'll find that - but now with Puncheon back and Chaplow not far away I'm not sure if/when he'll get those run of games

+1. We can't rely on Connolly to be fit for the rest of the season, and Barnard isn't going to be ready for a while yet.
-
Before Puncheon had his massive u-turn I would have said a wide man was required for another option - but this has now seemingly been solved and Punch is the equivalent of a new signing really. I think we could do with 1 more striker. I don't class Guly as an out and out forward for a start - and then all we have after that is Connolly, Lambert and Lee. CB looks a little short - but we can get by at the mo, if it gets more severe we have the loan market to dip into.

Forte isn't even worth 100k. -
Wouldn't expect Lee to be starting. On the bench possibly.
-
Well this has been a positive day! Wouldn't be suprised to see that finish off our activity to be honest. We've still got the loan window to dip into if required.
-
any half technical player would have looked lost out there on monday.
-
I think his scan is today IIRC. So no one knows anything yet, not even the bloke who told me it was long term at the match! Will have to wait and see.
-
It could be an amazing turn around for the lad. I remember how good he was for Milwall at this level and I'm quite excited by what a fired up and montivated Punchon could bring to us...
-
Bart Frazer - Martin - Fonte - Harding De Ridder - Hammond - Morgan - Puncheon Lambert - Reeves IMO It'll be something like that.. with a bench of... Davis, W-P, Forte, Shaw, Holmes, Chaplow, Sinclair

Punchon is like a new signing really! Never thought i'd see him back in the team, but on Monday I thought we needed someone like Puncheon out there - someone who has the confidence to take on and run at the oppo. IMO Punch would get into most teams in this league, so we've done well to get him to do a u-turn and issue an apology like this. -
Let's be honest, I think NC has played this whole situation fantastically well. We've been in the driving seat from day 1 and were never dictated to by him - he's now managed to u-turn it so he's back playing for us. I think NC deserves a bit of appreciation for how he's dealt with all t his.

Let's not look at it in that way...!
