Fantastic news!

good old SDR.

****. Couldn't we have just given them Lambert or something? We're screwed now.

Good post fella! Tuesdays game is a real biggy as far as I'm concered, and I think we'll do it. It's a huge chance for us to create a little gap betwen us and 3rd again, and to be honest in the long run that's all I care about. I'd love to see us win the league, but as long as we finish somewhere in the top 2 I will be thrilled - I want to avoid the playoffs at all costs!

I think we're having a bit of a rot at the moment, no one can deny that - but we wer enever going to go through the season like we started. It wasn't possible. Every team will have a blip, some longer than others, but at the end of the day our quality with the likes of Lallana, Lambert, Fonte and Chaplow in the side is unquestionable - and a first team with those 4 players in it will win more than they lose at this level. I'd have liked to see another striker, and to be honest we still have time, but I don't think thsi window has been a total disaster really. At the end of the day if we cannot afford what players want, or what clubs want, what can NC do about it? It's not his money at the end of the day and he's only managing it 'on behalf' of someone else.

I wouldn't bother wasting your time with facts with him. He doesn't seem to deal in them.
-
I would agree with that. I think he'll struggle in the premiership personally. Long-shots aplenty etc. He's been a great servent for us and is one of my favourite players - but if and when we get promoted I think he should take a backseat to someone new, fresh and young - and I can potentially see Davis becoming a coach in and around the club.

Why don't you just sod off to the TUI? They all seem to have the same midset as yourself over there. You have some agenda against Cortese and have had from day 1. I wasn't happy with him a year or so ago and said as much, but I'm happy to change my opinion because he's learnt from his mistakes quite clearly and is doing things that are positive for this football club. People that critise him now are just looking for attention IMO, simply because before him we had Wilde, Crouch, Lowe....and can you honestly say we'd be better off with any of those 3? Exactly. End of story.

I reckon he was an option before Punch returned to us. -

And where are they getting that £5m from...? 2 + 2..... -
Nice one. You're quite a big fan then?

Good news on Seaborne. Still wouldn't expect him anywhere near the first team for a while yet though.

At last - a swipe ticketing system!

Guly is within the top 3 scorers at this level. I'd say he's pretty reliable. You're going to have to find someone pretty damn good to be more reliable than that. And what is it with people living in the past??? Let them go...they played for us once, they won't again. We don't go after has-beens anymore, that isn't our transfer policy.

Yep, fair point. I reckon WHU fans are the ones feeling most downbeat regarding all this, their manager came out and said they will sign players, on the first of the month their OS had a story about how they have put in 4 bids for players....and so far we've signed more than them! (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe anyone in the top 6 has signed a player apart from Boro...and us!) -

What a totally dead window, and I'm not talking about us, I'm taking in general. Nothing has happened in any of the leagues. A few little signings here and there but barley anything has happened for any club. So we're either going to get a last day rush, or one of the quietest January windows ever. FWIW we have arguably been one of the most active clubs this window in the championship! (Falque, Lee, Hoovield) -
No one will post any feedback from it because NC has said he'll kill them if he does. Nasty man. CoC etc. (that's all said in jest btw incase NC is reading)
-
It's the normal pre-match press calls and no more.

Yeah, him along with Harding got automatic 1 year extensions upon promotion. Harding's deal was then extended a little longer IIRC. But he is injured unfortunately, he's had a bit of an unlucky season really. I don't think he's far away but he keeps picking up niggles and match fitness wise he's not really close to play alot of minutes I guess. I don't think we need another RB though tbh. We've got young Stephens who's a quality young player, and also Cork who can do a job there in emergencies.

NC is going for promotion this season, isnt he ?

You're really crazy sometimes ART! -
Before the games over Christmas he frustrated me, because he never seemed to produce anything. Lots of blind alleys and running into players - nothing spectacular and no real impact, it was all made even worse when Adkins revealed he doesn't see him as a wide man! But he got his chance over Christmas and IMO he took it with both hands. The palace game was the best I've seen him at home this season, and I'm not sure how others can say otherwise. He got a cracking assist and was a real outlet down the right, and finally the player that frustrated the hell out of me was producing an end product. He was also one of our better players against Bristol City, but then he got injured and his progressed stopped again. It seems that just as he starts to get a run in the team he gets injured - really frustrating. He's obviously got pace, talent, skill, but he needs to find that consistency and with a run of games I think he'll find that - but now with Puncheon back and Chaplow not far away I'm not sure if/when he'll get those run of games
