  1. Looks to have decent pace, gets himself into decent positions etc. But the defending in that clip is just pathetic.
  2. I'd rather play Lee and have Guly on the right. I absolutely hate seeing all 3 of those in the same team. No disrespect to any of them, because they're all terrific players, but we loose so much attacking flow and quality with those 3 in the middle. All too static.
  3. Good point, didn't realise he was that old. No idea then. Odd.
  4. If anything, this is probably a signing for the development squad and is nothing to do with the first team. Hence the loan back.
  5. Home.....against Bolton. Tasty and very winnable.
  6. Back in the summer before our game, he confirmed he approached us for Rickie, and said they themselves went after Jay Rod and then heard what we offered and knew he'd be out of their range etc.
  7. But why would you make substantial bids for players, if you didn't have the money? Seems like a bloody waste of time. It was confirmed by the Donny chairman that they accepted a 3.5m bid from us last summer for Sharp, he didn't want to join for personal reasons. It was also confirmed via various sources, and even Paul Jewell that we offered £5m for Jay Rod. I'm pretty sure we've offered a similar amount for Hooper. If the selling clubs don't want to sell, then there's not a hell of alot we can do. I think it's clear the money is there, but we may be running up a few blind alleys with it.
  8. Same could be said for Hooper, Jay Rod, Sordell etc. He's young enough to be able to grow into it.
  9. I think it's too late tbh. Celtic will not let him go now, no matter what. I've kind of felt that since day 1, so I'd love to know what information we've been getting which has kept pulling us back - his agent is obviously talking. But if the club don't want to sell, and it looks like they've rebuffed £6m+, then there's no point wasting any more time and we need to go all out and get Sharp. 2nd choice or not, he's still a bloody good player at this level.
  10. I think it's quite clear we have a fair bit to spend, so I would ignore their views! We just seem to be targeting players that clubs will never let go, ever.
  11. It's like a re-run of the summer at the mo! But Hooper instead of Jay-Rod. Will have to wait and see what materializes, but we're still pretty active by the sounds of it.
  12. There is a rumour, although not sure how concrete, that all clubs are pushing for the window to extended until 5pm on Thursday - as all premiership teams play mid-week too, so it's not favorable for anyone.
  13. Apparently we've been bumped back again with another approach, a 'feckin huge' offer according to Nixon on twitter. We should have given this up ages ago...!
  14. I'm sure our admin staff, Stokes admin staff, and NA are all ware of any issues that may crop up. They wouldn't have missed such a blatant problem, which is why there won't be a problem.
  15. Well I for one agree with you, and that's exactly the point Minty was making too which is why your attack on him was confusing!
  16. Ok, well I think this is potential a big development: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/2012/01/29/celtic-snap-up-polish-strike-ace-pawel-brozek-from-under-the-noses-of-rivals-rangers-86908-23725157/ Rumours suggest he will cost upwards of £2m, now they don't have that sort of money lying around unless they sell. It has been said many a time that deals don't happen until the selling club have got their replacement in. If it's true that Hooper was stopped contract talks then they may want to get the cash when they can, as his price will only drop from now on in if he cannot extend his deal. I didn't want to be taken in by this all again, but something seems to be happening at both sides.
  17. We need to stick a man on Whittingham and deny him space to play, if he starts dictating the game then we are buggered.
  18. At the mo the similarities between this potential deal, and the potential deal for Jay Rod in the summer are striking. (pardon the pun) Let's hope our final day swoop for Hooper comes off.
  19. Are you being sarcastic? What on earth has Minty said wrong? Your point means nothing......unless you've quoted the wrong person.
  20. Yep, true. Sensible I guess.
  21. When the replay is at home and you're in the draw, I think it's a decent result! Millwall should be the ones kicking themselves at a lost oppertunity IMO, based on the amount of play they had.
  22. I think the odds were slashed once a sky sports 'source' said they were interested.
  23. From what I was told, that was the plan. So I was surprised to see him back playing for us today! I think we're keen to get him some serious game time for a short term. - then we potentially get a fit and in-form confident goal scorer back for the final 8 weeks.
  24. As others have said (maybe nixon himself actually), it's odd that he's having a medical like this as loans often don't. Maybe some wires have got crossed and we're actually signing him on a perm?
  25. I thought I was going to read some updated transfer news on this thread, but nope. Just more utter rubbish and bickering with Dalek Might as well close this thread.
