  1. That was a good win no doubt. But for me this was our best because of the situation we found ourselves in at HT, and the massive hole we had to dig oursevles out of. Hull turned up and played good stuff, unlike West ham.
  2. Some of the fans last night were doing my bloody head in. Comments along the lines about Barnard not being good enough for this league, if we don't beat Hull we don't deserve promotion, Lambert is just average at this level, Lallana has been found out, Guly is ****, Davis is dodgy. All in all quite a frustrating night listening to all that tosh. I have no issue with critising the team generally, as we didn't play well in the first half. It's the stupid outlandish conclusions people come to and knee-jerk responses to things they don't really understand. We're in a stunning position in the league, we didn't play well, but we won and are now 8pts clear of third. A year ago we were top 10 in L1 losing at home to Brentford. We've come a bloody long way with the same group of players, which IMO has totally shocked me.
  3. But he still hasn't had much of a chance at this level to come to that conclusion - you may be right, but he could sitll turn out to be a decent goal scorer at this level. He lacks a bit of pace but he always works his arse off and that's a quality that doesn't always come bundled in with a £2.5m mega signing for e.g. I still think he'll suprise a few this year and make his mark at this level. He's the sort of player that can pop up with crucial goals away from home as we saw last year.
  4. Adkins spoke of Seaborne the other day, he's back with the group but still a long long way from playing. I'd assume he now has to have another pre-season as such, and depending on how he recovered...alter how he heads the ball...who knows. I don't think we'll see Jaidi again this year after Solents comments last night, he has quite an issue with his knee apparentley - he's had the op on it, but according to them he still is having issues. When a player of his 'bulk' and age starts getting injuries like that it's usually time to hang up the boots. I'd love him to stay around the club as some sort of coach though because they love him there. The young kids could learn so much from him, as he's played at most levels of professional football.
  5. He's a marmite type of player. He has insane ability on the ball if he's in the mood and has the space, but if he's closed down quickly then he starts to look a little clumsey. But still in every game he's a threat, he's one of those unpredictable characters - he could either trip over his feet, or dribble through 3 players and score! that's the beauty of him... I think he's a match winner and that's why he's a pretty regular fixture in the 11 - he's had many more good games than bad this year anyway, and he looks at total ease in the championship.
  6. I think some of the opinions and conclusions people are coming to after just 2 appreances is nothing short of pathetic. I had a guy near me last night and as soon as he heard Barnard is coming on, his words were ''I saw him as a sub a few weeks back, he's no where near good enough for this league. L1 at best" We have some right idiots as fans.
  7. 4-4-2 from what I could make out, with Morgan playing on the right wing. It didn't work, lacked any real shape or balance as others have said. When we had 2 out and out wingers in the 2nd half we played that formation much better.
  8. He always does.
  9. Richardson without a doubt. Poll closed.
  10. Nope it's not! It's where we start to actually believe we can do this! This was a really really big win.
  11. He was injured. Limped off and was helped down the tunnel by the physio. Prob a precaution more than anything.
  12. That was probably our best win of the season. At HT we were in big trouble, we didn't penetrate enough in the first half or create much. They were always neat and tidy on the ball and carried a threat, whilst they were solid closing us down with a really fluid and dynamic midfield.. As soon as they nicked the lead when they did it looked a long way back. I felt sorry for Davis because his initial save was stunning. We came out in the 2nd half like a train, the first 10 mins we stepped up 2 gears and turned the game on it's head. I didn't see that turn around coming based on the first half! All of a sudden we had width, we had pace and penetration in and around the box and it paid off. After that initial spell we kind of gave the impetus back to Hull and they stepped it up and passed it around very well, their pace up top through Maclean caused us a real issue at times. They were easily the best team we've played at home this year and they will be a force in the 2nd half, no doubts about that. They've got some real quality, which is why this win is so satisfying - we dug in and won that like a team that knows how to win games, from any position. That's what 2 years of winning in L1 with the same players gives you. Not too bothered WHU won, I'm more pleased that the gap between us and 3rd is increasing. It looks at the moment to be us and WHU going nip and tuck at the top, with the rest playing catch up. I never thought I'd be saying that.....!
  13. Had a bad day or something?
  14. They have always charged £10 per re-print. What's the issue here? It should teach people to be a little more careful in looking after it!
  15. The general rumour going around at the moment is that Chanrai will take control back (he hasn't been paid in full) - and straight away start insolvency proceedings with Portsmouth. Will have to wait and see.
  16. emichalczuk Joe Michalczuk Chainrai's Portpin files a charge making it a secured creditor of CSI...worrying times for #Pompey - if CSI default..Balram could be back Unconfirmed rumours that Chainrai might even be filing for insolvency of PFC - via Pompey Trust Chairman @AshBeen23
  17. This farce just will not stop. Cant' see them going into administration again, they'll wiggle themselves out of it somehow so they can continue this season - but there is now an extreme possibility that they'll be L1 very shortly, and continue to fall through the leagues. They're back to a position where they'll need to get rid of their higher earners again. (Lawrence, Mullins, Tal) etc.
  18. We might not even get to play them at this rate!
  19. Wouldn't write them off just yet, a winning mentality breeds belief right up until the last second.
  20. He's found his level.
  21. He was on football focus y/day afternoon too, looked fine. Wouldn't have known. Feel so sorry for his family.
  22. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/8918628/Wales-boss-Gary-Speed-found-dead.html That is too ****ing tragic. Awful.
  23. Reports that he took his own life. Totally shocking.

  25. In typical saints fashion, watch us win at all the top teams home grounds.
