I don't think we ever stood a chance once teams like Arsenal showed an interest. Playing mid-week at Cardiff or in the Champions league with Arsenal is a bit of a no-brainer. I don't think we'll be able to keep players of this level until we're competing top half of the table in the premiership.

Relativity speaking, there are a huge amount of winnable fixtures after we get out of October...which is why I think this month could go a long way to shaping our season.

The usual case of a playoff final hangover, always seems to happen when a team looses in the final. Add to that with them losing the likes of Long and Mills, they are much weaker.
