I like how we're getting all our key players locked down to long-term contracts. Morgan next...?
-
Well it's fact as much as that's all Nigel thinks we need, and I personally think he's more qualified than any of us on here to make the call.
-
Why? people keep raising this point but never give names or positions. We do not need lots of new signings, 2 or 3 - that's all. We have no reason to moan at all compared to the state of other clubs squads at the moment. Portsmouth still can't fill a bench for example. We need 1 or 2 more players, we'll get them before the end of the window. Having just 2 additions isn't going to need to gel, they should just slot straight in. If we had to build a brand new team I'd share you're nerves, but we don't. We already have that. People need to have more confidence in the guys we have at the club! they're good enough!

He has had a new contract on the table all summer which would put him in line with our highest earners, but he obviously isn't going to sign it. Glad to see that the club have stood up to a player though. Cortese does not take any **** and it's refreshing to see.

For Sunderland, in the league above, yes (he was good for WHU in the prem). But more than good enough for us.
-
The ''daily'' stories at the moment are almost certainly media plants, driven by his advisers or agent. Not anything to do with the club in anyway at all. As has always been the case (the article from feb is brilliant), until NC feels the offer is right for the club and Alex himself he won't deal. This media crap isn't going to help things.
-
TBH it's alot different than our usual shirts, quite refreshing actually. As said by MLG...there's only so much you can do with red and white stripes!!
-
Has been made available for transfer by Steve Bruce. Was on about him being a realistic target at the end of last season, but he had a few months at Don caster last season and they hated him - and was dropped from their team in the end. Still think he'd be a good player with some proper games behind him though.
-
It just seems such an unjustified opinion and doesn't really make any sense.
-
+1. Gelling comes into question when you buy an entirely new team and possibly has a substance of truth, but when you already have a team and just need 1 or 2 extra quality players then gelling will not come into the question.
-
Nope, he will never play for us again. Never. And Chambo hasn't gone yet, and I don't think he will.

Where are you following it out of interest? (or are you there??)

I think Saville is, signed a 3 year contract not so long ago. Harlee Dean - no idea. That was such a random signing.

From football-rumours....(but it backs up what someone said on here the other day) Southampton are apparently on the verge of cancelling Jason Puncheon's contract as his behavior while in exile with the youth squad has been atrocious, culminating yesterday with an incident where members of the youth team had to pull him off of academy manager Matt Crocker after a training ground bust up. I know a member of the academy coaching staff who witnessed the incident.

Yep it's Lallana's choice. He likes to keep the same number so that the kids with his name on the back don't have to keep changing etc. More thoughtful than most footballers would be!
-
Bit harsh isn't it? What's he done wrong exactly? I think he's a good player to have around the squad, I doubt he'll start many games but having the option to use his pace from the bench against tiring defenders is priceless.
-
He's a good player, but I just think for upwards of £15m they should be snapping PSG's hands off! It's such a crazy fee.
-
What is actually going on there mate? Are they really withholding the funds from Warnock? I honestly thought once you got promoted you'd really spend with your backing, but something isn't right there.
-
Good luck with him! He'll be decent for a few months
-
It's also a bit harsh that they call Jack Stephens a ''Saints academy product'' - not really!
-
Puncheon is really excluded isn't he. So it looks like a space is left vacant for a defender, and also a winger/attacker by the looks of that.
-
I'd be more worried if I was a leeds fan. No strikers, sold their 2 mid fielders and replaced them with Brown...and that's it for them so far. Without 2 additions we're still ok to start the season, it's not an urgent rush as people make out.
-
''If'' fit is the prob though, as we all know he won't last a season.
