There are some really really silly players being mentioned in here. (both ins and outs) We will not get owen and for people to then start saying he's not good enough is even worse. We will not sell Hammond or Barnard and I will bet you any money that they'll both be key players and first teamers next season.
-
I still think the best targets are - Maynard, Marvin Elliott, Wade Elliott (out of contract) St Ledger and Clyne (Palace RB) Get those players added down the spine and we'll be laughing.
-
Tough to say tbh. If we really could have threatened Brighton for the title I think they'd have won the games they lost, including our one. Possibly to our benefit, they had nothing to play for when we met them.

Highs MK Dons at home, best second half ever! The Huddersfield and P'boro home games were great too, loved them. The phenomenal end to the season, picking up 40 points from a possible 45. I've never experienced anything like it supporting saints and it may be a while before we get close to that sort of form again! Lows Death of ML. Awful moment, i'll never forget the utter stunned shock I felt when I saw the news. Thought it was someone having a total sick joke at first. Rochdale at home, easy. Came away from that game wondering where it all went wrong, everyone was a shadow of the player that excited so much the season before. Didn't know where we were heading. MK Dons away - Felt auto promotion was slipping away from us and another season was being wasted. I felt we'd only manage it if we went on an unbelievable, never-seen-before run of form.....which amazingly, we did!

But he won't, so he'd be a massive drain on resources. Not sure about singing ''has beens'' looking for their last pay-day. I'm up for getting young talented players that can make the step up.

TBH from the games I've seen him play in, he didn't seem to offer us anything different. Decent player, but nothing stand out.

ffs.

Get rid of him please.

It was a great day and fitting to end with a Chambo goal! Morgan was my MOTM though, a great return and a great asset to the team. Sign him up on a longer deal Cortese...! Glad I got to see all the celebrations in the directors box/disabled area. We've seen two celebrations and cups being lifted 2 season in a row now, it's a brilliant feeling. 3 times next year then....? We're def. in a good position to challenge, more so than any other team promoted from L1. We have players like Fonte, Lallana, Morgan, Harding, OxO etc that are easily championship quality (and all are proven at that level apart from chambo) -
The Nigel Adkins end of season promotion - appreciation thread

We were expected to be promoted this year, but after our start and all that had happened to finish on 92 points is unreal. He came in when we were at a very low eb, but importantly for me he's kept calm - he's never panicked or critisied anyone individually (refereres/players etc). He's positive all the time and that positivity will rub off on the players week in week out. He's managed the entire squad fantastically, everyone has had a chance and have been able to play a part and he deserves massive credit for that. Also a special mention for Crosby and Wilkins - they're part of this success and have prepared us so well this year. People were writing Wilkins off and saying ''get rid of him'' when he managed us earlier on this year, but that would have been moronic and I'm glad Cortese saw sense and kept him on. Whilst he struggled a bit when he was caretaker, he is a fantastic coach and a key cog in our success this year. -
He's ours thankfully, bought him in January and I think he's on a 2 1/2 year deal.
-
He's turned into such a sour berk. I really hope we finish 2 points behind them.
-
Win and win well. Walsall should be ok anyway, as I don't see Daggers beating Posh at their place. I want to see us get over 90 points and potentially only 2 points behind Brighton (they're away on the last day too!) That would be quality

Helpmerhonda. He's signing on July 1st and will officially open our theme park.

Who would you like to win the Play-Offs? (League 1)
S-Clarke replied to Nexstar's topic in The Saints
It should be Huddersfield, purley because they're the third best team by a mile. But for purley selfiish reasons - Bournemouth, a nice local away game and 6 points. -
This thread is a sign of whats to come pre-season....
-
I hope we get a decent fee for him. Hate the bloke, he'll be a journey man footballer for the rest of his life - I gaurentee it.
-
The MK Dons game, I think that gave the fans and the players the mental belief and lift that they can win promotion. If we'd have lost that 2-0 it would have really affected us mentally IMO. Since that game we've been like a juggernaunt tbh. (apart from the rochdale game)

We don't need a LB though, that's the last position i'd strengthen. We'd have Mills, Harding and Dickson there next season.
-
He was the right choice from day 1, never understood people that were against him straight away. He ticked every single box we needed at the time. No better choice. - Experience in L1 - Experience of Auto promotion and play offs in L1 - Experience in the championship - Young enough to grow with the club...
-
Season Ticket prices i reckon, now we know what league we're in.

He's totally surprised me. What a great pro and a great attitude. Sign him up, more than good enough to do a job in the championship. Not week in, week out - but a great option to have up our sleeves.
