  1. Opinion seems mixed from Bristol City fans, alot of their opinions are based on apathy with their club more than anything ''We need to get rid of the squad and start again'' etc, we had that sort of mindset a few years ago and players that we let go often went and became very good at their new club. But quite a few also say he's their best CB and it would be stupid to let him go for whatever fee. He's also a left sided CB and it seems like Adkins sees this as priority in order for us to play out from the back, and from what I remember about him he's pacey and technically sound on the ball.
  2. tbf Gorkss would have been great for us ''now'', but doesn't fit in with the kind of players we're signing these days. I.E 25 and younger, talented, hungry, potential to cut it in the prem etc.
  3. I think it's possibly a bit lost in translation there. Probably a case of NA asking NC to go for another defensive target, rather than Gorrks. Who knows, it may not even be fontaine...who by the way, is a very good player.
  4. He's probably not on a huge contract in pay terms, but it's more the length that ****ed me off (5/6 years ffs!!!!). Even if he's lower paid that length of contract should set him up for a long time, even though he can't actually do the job he's employed for.
  5. Wasn't that Malcolm Webster? One of Burleys coaches who was still around?
  6. Doesn't read like that to me. He was a massive fans favorite for them, as he was a key reason why they reached the playoffs a couple of seasons ago under pearson. They then paid £3m for him! Sven's come in and brought in his own overpaid players and he hasn't got a look in. On form, I think he's a terrific player, similar to Barnard in that he works his arse off non-stop and has a bit more pace.
  7. I think he was just totally and utterly knackered.
  8. I have no idea, he's been posting crap like that for years. Probably just a tedious WUM.
  9. We've been spoilt for the last few years, but for some utterly bizarre reason which is over my head, people have agendas and are looking for reasons to critisise just so they can justify their outlandish opinions. At the moment they are scraping the barrel and looking as utterly clueless as they are. I'm actually embarrassed for them.
  10. Charlie is back with the classics.
  11. He's such a poor excuse for a footballer.
  12. We'll get signings out of the blue again, as we always do, just as everyone has forgotten about our targets! Same happened with Jack Cork, lots of talk early june....then it went quiet, everyone gave up hope (including me for a little while..!) for it to all of a sudden happen within 24 hours in July. Can see the same happening here. I'm sure we had our targets at the end of the season, and we'll try our hardest to get them. To quote adkins.....''We just need to cherry pick the right players to come into this football club, but we don't want too many to affect the spirit we have here"
  13. Don't see him as an out and out striker either, more of a wide player.
  14. We really don't have enough up top to go through a 46 game season. Yesterday was a fine example of that. Connolly tired and we had nothing else what so ever on the bench to change it. We definetley need pace over the top and I'd prefer to use De Ridder on the flank, that's his position, he isn't a striker. We only have Lambo, Barnard and Connolly as our out and out strikers, and none are particularly pacey. I think it's pretty clear adkins agrees with that too!
  15. You really are quite dim.
  16. He was our best midfielder, without him we'd have not won the game. Fact.
  17. I'm pretty sure Kasper will play against us as they have a carling cup game mid-week, which will count towards his 1 game ban.
  18. ummm....nope. Still 3 points, even if you score 7.
  19. I'd say that someone to fill the number 5 shirt is a certainty, also interesting that they haven't taken the team squad photo yet - so they are obviously anticipating some more additions.
  20. Totally agree with that. I'm just baffled why a team like Swansea or QPR didn't sign him, he's such a bargain and he's a premiership level player IMO. I don't care though - at least we have him in our team, perfect fit.
  21. Nope, we're a very fit side. Not quite sure why Duncan has decided to make a comment like that rather than praise another win, and another record smashed.
  22. I don't think they looked necessarily fitter, just a little fresher as they play a slower paced game than us. We play a very high-tempo game and to carry that Tuesday/Saturday is a very tough thing to do. I thought we dug in and ground out a good result and at the end of the day they lost, so obviously being fresher doesn't always count towards the end result. A winning mentality is a big thing to shake off.
  23. sent off for a 2nd yellow. Kicked the ball into the crowd I think.
  24. 6-1 !!!!! He's surely sacked after this? They weren't even that good last year under him.
  25. What a god awful team Ipswich are, i think pretty much all pundits tipped them as the ''surprise'' package. Yeah, they're totally surprising the pundits predictions!
