They've prob given up after finishing bottom half in the championship for 10 seasons in a row. What a boring club to support over the last decade.
-
We've been top of the league since the 18th of September. Amazing.
-
oh and another thing...we've won at the flaming Richo!
-
I think everyone we've played have said this. Good to hear - we're not just luckily snatching results, we're comprehensively winning games.

(our GD is quality too for this stage of the season!!!) If Boro lose, we can be 9 pts ahead of 3rd place.

wtf dalek...!!! nice one. 1st half fantastic from us, first 30mins of the 2nd half was pretty poor and sloppy to be fair - as a fair amount of our away games have been this year. But the way we reacted was terrific, this result shows what a mentally strong team we've become. Alot of sides would have faltered here after throwing away that lead.
-
He's a quality player who has had some poor games this year, and has deserved his criticism. But he's had an excellent few games and today by all accounts he's been outstanding. He's got a real touch of premiership class about him when he gets the time to play.
-
That's the important one for me....but they kick off later.
-
Not sure what we did at the start of the 2nd half....but this is an excellent response. Great team.
-
**** me what are we like! 3-2 - guly.
-
I do have to agree with our away form, apart from the Ipswich game we have been pretty poor away all year. Our home form is our saving grace!
-
Cov. have just got a new lease of a life, they're all over us. Will be lucky to hang on as it stands - ****ed off!
-
There's only one team in this at the moment. They will inadvertently get stretched as the game goes on, and hopefully that's to our advantage.
-
Don't agree with that, our record of winning when in the lead is terrific for the last 2 years.
-
what an almighty cock up this game has been.

merrington made a note... ''Saints need to make sure they don't concede any goals''
-
wow, we're making this pointlessly difficult!
-
That's really sad. Good to see him score tonight.

The difference between Southampton and Brighton...
S-Clarke replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
TBF I wouldn't want to laugh at their winless streak too much, because it shows how easy it is to get stuck in a rut in this league. They were on fire at the start of the season like us. Also we have them next up at home....and I bloody well hope they break their winless run before that game!!! -
Good analyis that FF. It's a game to forget...but be thankful we won! This is the reason I worry about these games more than the ones against WHU/Boro etc. Credit to P'boro, I thought they played out of their skins even at 10 men. They look a much better side than what we played last year, I think they'll be fine in this league on that showing. What great results for us in the other fixtures though....effectively we have a 6pt gap, with our GD included. Now let's get our away wins up and running on Saturday and we could be laughing going into the international break!
-
Chappers for me without question, the run-away winner this month IMO.
-
Well he missed the game at the weekend due to ''Personal problems'' so he's mind has obviously been swayed by something.
-
If we reigite the move I think it's a positive. He'll get you goals at this level, and with the amount of chances we created he could get bucket loads here. I think he's the sort of player that could work well of Lambo too, which is why I thought it would be a good move in August. It would give us one hell of a potent attack at this level, that's for sure. No shortage of goals this year!
-
It would be a great story for those lads, and like you - I'm too starting to believe. I'd still say a top 6 finish is a great achievement based on where we've come from, but we're in such a strong position in the top 2 at the moment that I'm starting to think we'll could actually stay there.

Own Up, Who Else Was Concerned About October?
S-Clarke replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
Agree with that. We always put ourselves in a position where we need to score 2 to win a game away. If we'd have kept it goalless in the first half against Derby we'd have won that game at a canter IMO, but we gave them something to hold onto right at the start.
