We did have a brilliant defence last year tbf, and it wasn't just the CB's - it's the whole team.
I'd like to see a pacey CB signed to partner fonte in an Ideal world, but I'd be more nervous if I was a P'boro fan going into the championship with the same defence.
I reckon it's probably over £1m initially, rising to around £3m on promotion/appearances/international games etc.
It sounds like we set our stool out nice and early though and put a bid down that we knew wouldn't have been easily matched.
Check this defence - Ostlund, Bennett, Makin, Vignal - Started against Palace at home, 1-4.
Now when you start a season with that it's time to worry, but really we've got nothing to worry about at the moment.

Didn't say I didn't like it at Chelsea. Had some good times there. Just saying burnley gave me some great memories. And excited for future

Thanks for all the messages everyone. And thanks to all the support from burnley fans. More of a home club than Chelsea has ever been to me.
I think we'd miss out on half of his game with him stuck back there, Similar to how we messed around with Surman and Skacel. He's a CM and i'd hope to see him play there 90% of the time.
I think Lambert was an important signing for us, because it showed everyone that we now had a club that could compete financially. We'd also landed ourselves a player that could get us out of this league.
Cork could be as important in the long-run and it's a great addition.
I think he'll still be ours, we've stuck a ridiculous price on his head (rightly so) no clubs are willing to match it, and Chambo himself seems quite content to stay here for a little longer - so everyone is happy. (apart from the clubs trying to get him)
