Exactly, spot on. As has been said, it's more of a 5m investment into our future. He's a young england U21 international who has been tipped to get full England honors before long. If we're going to spend big money, he's exactly the type of player we should be spending big money on. Not the likes of Keane and Bellamy (I'm not saying they wouldn't improve us, before I get jumped on)

Never rest on your laurels, if we get into September and Connolly picks up a knock, Barnard still isn't fit... things start to look very stretched and our options to bring in players are extremely limited. At the moment we don't have any ST options on the bench, so it's pretty obvious we need more in that area. We need a striker and a CB priority before the window closes and I'm pretty sure adkins thinks the same.

Gapps16 Keith Parson Would like to wish @Zavon_Hines26 all the best on his move to Burnley. #topplayer 1 hour ago member of staff at WHU

Not just yet, but looks imminent

Yep, looks like i was ITK on that one!

All feasible invicta. I think Burnley want us to pay a little more $$ too, but it's very possible that they'll turn around and say. what you suggested ''OK, if you want to match what we want we'll need to replace him first''
-
Fourth_Official Fourth Official Burnley are believed to be making a quick move to secure Everton's Jose Baxter on a loan deal #EFC #Twitterclarets he's also a striker. Moves are a foot me thinks.

Charlie Austin Martin Paterson Zavon Hines (if he signs) Danny Ings Jay Rod... for a squad trying to ''reign'' it in financially, they have 1 too many strikers there...
-
Absolutely no chance....if he goes anywhere, it's a premiership club.
-
apparently Burnley are after Zavon Hines (another striker). Methinks they're paving the way for a certain departure.
-
We were linked with him under Pardew, quite a strong link too. It was reported in a couple of Norwegian websites, but some big clubs were looking at him them.
-
Wasn't he runner up in their player of the season last year? He will not move anywhere. I'm pleased that he's made his mark at prem level
-
You've been told wrong on that I'm afraid.
-
How about a bit of pace and extra mobility upfront and down the flanks?
-
Probably a rival fan winding them up. Solent don't broadcast rumours, and why the hell would any rival fan phone up the local radio station of another football club??? The internet spreads so much crap it's untrue!
-
Sounds identical to the Gary Monk 'story'.
-
Weird! I guess it was possibly part of their newspaper rumour roundup. Newcastle are interested in him along with us though.

Newcastle have had a confirmed bid of 8m, according to the burnley forum

Nothing has been said on solent

£4m swoop for Burnley duo Rodriguez and Fox?
S-Clarke replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
I'd imagine alot of the deal is based on add on's. If we get promoted they get so much, if he scores so many goals/makes so many apps/plays an international etc. The up-front fee will end up being alot lower than the 7.5m -

£7.5m will get him, shame that we have real competition for him now though. -
Well Morgan and Cork are playing better at the moment, and seemed to have developed a good understanding. So for me, that's the midfield 2 for the foreseeable. Morgan will get a chance, but it shows what great competition we have here.

Will Saints still be Top of the League after todays games
S-Clarke replied to John B's topic in The Saints
Cardiff already 2-0 up, and 1 more goal will put them top. -
They sound resigned to losing him if I'm honest.
