According to reports in the Hull Daily Mail, Leicester City striker Martyn Waghorn would favour a move to Hull City over Southampton after the Foxes gave him permission to leave the club before the transfer window closes.

Pretty sure that's not the spec we're looking for. We want a striker that will come in and improve what we have long-term, and challenge all of our forwards, we want someone who'd be pretty much first choice with Lambo, not a backup.

Have you see him play? I have, and he's not slow.

Yep. Little live wire really and would add something to our front line that we don't currently have. He just needs games, Sven hasn't included him since he came in and bought all his mates (Vassell etc) Leicesters decision to let strikers go lately hasn't been great anyway, Fryatt is also quality as Hull are seeing..

I can still see us getting either Jay Rod or Maynard, I reckon we'll go in with a bigger deal next week. And the clubs could be very tempted then.

Waghorn was quality for Leicester a few seasons ago, so much so they paid £3m for him. He's still young and has just been called up to the U21's. He's got good pace, lots of energy and can play either flank as well. I thought he was a quality player at Leicester when they actually played him. Wouldn't be disappointed with this at all. Not sure what peoples complaints are on this one, just because he's an outcast at another club? He's alot more proven than Baldock for example.

MK Don's could reject it though, as we've offered a better deal.

Maybe that's why we've thrown a player in too? Our deal will still look more attractive to MK then.

There is no way in hell that Punch would drop back to L1, he see's himself as a premiership player.

Seems quite odd, but I've been quite suspicious about his absence from all of our squads so far (U21's / Carling Cup / League). He was almost ready before the Leeds game...

If it is Barnard who's included in the deal, then it looks like we're freeing up for another striker as well as Baldock.

Yep, he looks very handy. Sort of player that would fit in with what we're doing here...young/hungry/potential etc. And you can't fault Nigel's ability to spot good striking talent...(martin patterson, gary hooper, Paul Hayes, jermaine beckford etc..)

I'd be disappointed to loose Dicko, I still think he has something to offer us....but as we've just splashed close to £2m on a new LB, he'll struggle to get near.

I think he's been pretty much spot on regarding any transfer's. He didn't confirm we'd sign Maynard, or JayR - but he did confirm out interest in them, which was true. I think we see Baldock as better value, which I have to agree with if I'm honest.

His start with us was cocked up by his lack of pre-season, this was due to Romanov at Hearts dragging his heals in any transfer. Once we did get him, we started to see the best of him around October-November time, only for him, along with Rasiak to mysteriously drop from being first team players. After that he didn't really get going again for us, and then the following season we decided to waste him by using him as a left back. He was such a waste of a talent, our current management would have got so much more out of him.

He's quick, can play in behind or on the flank IIRC. Young, lots of potential etc, and will not cost £6m!!!!

Yep, ticks alot of boxes. He's not the big name many crave, but give him a year at this level and he could become one of the better players outside the top flight. I watched him very closely down at St Mary's when we came back from 2-0 down, he was electric and I remember breathing a sigh of relief when he was subbed (we went on to win after he went off)
