Was class today, worked his ****ing socks off.

It was a very tough game, probably the toughest of the season so far. Millwall didn't give us a second on the ball and were snapping out our hills constantly, so we never managed to gain any real possession, but we did try. I thought some of the lads looked a little leggy too (not surprising given our start!) but they all showed tremendous grit and determination to win that, exactly the sort of win that's driven from a ''winning mentality''. I thought Cork was magnificent again, not his best day looking ''pretty'' on the ball, but his grit and drive to win the ball back, go in for tackles etc was great, and when we did need that bit of composure on there he was able to provide it, such as that quality pass for Guly, who actually played well again as he has all season IMO, and his goal was fantastic but he worked so hard all game. Lambo lead the line excellently too, but Conners had a quieter game and looked a little tired, which is why I feel we could still do with another forward option on the bench. Overall can't really complain. Astonishing start to the season and a fantastic record run of results which I never thought i'd see as a saints fan. Long may it continue!!

Brilliant news, one of the contract extensions i was waiting for....great time to be a saints fan.

He's done really well at Millwall so far, strikes me as the sort of player that needs to be first team straight away - seems to struggle to make an impact as a bit-part player as he was with us.

Couple of tweets from Tony Husband, who is part of Solent sport... TonyHusbandTV Adkins will keep his counsel, word is Jay Rod offer was made, but plenty of time in August left so Burnley have no rush. @TonyHusbandTV #saintsfc As expected Nigel Adkins wouldn't be drawn on transfer speculation, but admitted work continues behind the scenes.

I think it's in the clubs possession now, and they decide when/where to use it etc. I think Mike has tried to communicate with them, but they haven't been very forthcoming.

Bruce admitted today that a couple of championship clubs were very interested in taking Matt, and that ''he needed to leave the club this window''. Wouldn't be surprised to see him here, although he didn't exactly pull up any trees for Donny last year.
-
He's a good lad, generally seems really laid back which has made it easy for him to slot in to our group. Hope we see a bit more of him on the pitch because he's got top ability.
-
Not really. They said the same about Eagles and Mears, but there had been obvious interest in them.
-
Agreed.
-
Once they get him, I expect things to start moving. Hines Patterson (injured, but not long term - only a few weeks) Austin Ings ........Rodriquez And they're also trying to push through a deal for young everton winger/striker Jose Baxter. one too many for a club trying to cut it's cloth.
-
totally agree with what everyone says. Total opposite of the players we're looking to sign. ....and we don't need another midfielder.
-
We did, but it wasn't good enough from their POV. Afaik they've been open to negotiate though.
-
Check out Ipswich player, they have 10mins of highlights on there.
-
We're only linked because agents know we want a striker, so will want to hike up his price. We probably aren't even interested.
-
He's already on loan at Palace. Obvious target for me is Gorrks, can't see him playing much at QPR and I can see us going back for him. Maybe the ''takeover'' slowed everything up/
-
Yeah, they would have made it 3 out of 3 if they'd won.
-
At least we go into Saturday top of the league!!!
-
Yep, it has a bit. Although they've signed well. £1m on Jason Shackell for e.g., good player.
-
Cardiff 0 - 3 Brighton
-
Maynard again, 2-1 to Bristol City now. I really want us to sign this kid.
-
I think they'll now be shopping in a totally different market.
-
True, I must say I haven't been very impressed with their signings tbh. They've added alot...but nothing stands out as amazing quality, just alot of over-priced players. They are still actively looking for another goal scorer though, wouldn't surprise me to see them step up their interest in Maynard after this.
