  1. After a slow start we've now started to continue our form from the back end of last season and if we keep that going, which i expect us to do with more additions in january, then we'll win the league with room to spare. I'm very confident with our chances because we've managed to keep within touching distance of everyone, and this is also with the promise of quality additions in january to add to our already quality squad - this will be coupled with sides in and around us loosing their better players as we've seen today. It's going to be a very exciting 2011, I'm sure of it.
  2. This league is weaker now without the likes of McCoid, Jermaine Easter, Marcus Tudgay - so that can only serve as more ammunition to us. We may have not got anyone, but we will certainty benift from our rivals loosing their better players.
  3. Any reason? we don't need one and it would be a stupid expense. Kelvin is top class for us and we have a quality understudy in Bart waiting in the wings. GK is the one position we really don't have to worry about what so ever.
  4. harding and seaborne are both nursing knocks
  5. didn't we lose that one? or it may have been the Sheff. U one i was thinking of. i remember is quashie bursting forward and missing a sitter inside the first few mins.
  6. oh well, we best hope that chappers is fit! or give young gobern a go. either way he is a gifted player but after seeing what chaplow has offered us, he's not the be all and end all.
  7. As someone said above, give them forecast...
  8. yes please....he tore this league apart when he was last in it. But surely he'd prefer to go to a promotion chasing CCC team? He can do a job there as he scored over 10 goals for Leicester last year. Still find it odd how he cant get into the team as i think he's a terrific player.
  9. Wasn't bad, bit of a frustrating one as i felt we could have won it if we just gave that little bit extra. Chambo was well handled by them so we lacked a threat that could run at them and cause them problems. On the other hand though i felt we dealt with them excellently, their winger Bennett wasn't involved as much as i feared as he's an excellent player and we didn't allow them to play football at all - much in the same way as we played against p'boro, in their face forcing them to misplace passes etc. Hopefully chappers is back for the next game though as we badly missed his forward running through midfield. Although our midfield harried and tackled brilliantly, we didn't have that attacking edge to it. 0-0 isn't a bad result at all, especially with Charlton dropping points so the gap hasn't really changed too much.
  10. The same as on Saturday then.
  11. We may be playign them at the right time. There wasn't anything wrong with our team y/day, so i wouldn't change a thing - even the order of the subs worked. Brighton are without their CB as said above, and also their other CB, Greer was subbed with an injury so they may be giving a 17 year old his debut.
  12. and to add to that, their other CB - Greer, was subbed with an injury so they're currently talking about giving a 17 year old his debut.
  13. he was subbed in the last game due to an injury, so he was probably injured y/day.
  14. That's mental mate, really enjoyed them last season.
  15. You're spot on with the point about the balance. It's the best balance we've had in the team for a while, a midfielder that sits, a midfielder that bursts forward, two attacking wingers happy to take on their man or cut inside - two natural sided full backs bombing forward. If we can keep this team playing together consistently we'll do very well.
  16. I thought it was Richardsons best game for us, looked excellent bursting forward with a few nice little tricks too.
  17. lol random
  18. I like Hammond, we're often weaker in the middle when he's not playing. He gives us a bite and is the sort of MF you need at this level to achieve anything.
  19. The way chaplow spoke after the game makes it sound as if there are just 1 or 2 formalities to be sorted. He wants to sign for us permanently, he said so in the interview.
  20. Looks quite an impressive setup, also noticed Cortese (and one other person in the directors box) staying out all of HT clapping the groups going round the pitch.
  21. Chappers for me, class player.
  22. Nope! you're right. Was in the echo earlier this week ''IF Saints beat Peterborough on Saturday, it will mark the first time in nearly 18 years they have won six consecutive home games in a season. ''
  23. It's really concerning how many of our players are/have been carrying knocks since the start of the season. Our pre-season really was a sham.
  24. he was much more involved today, winning lots of headers and holding the ball up brilliantly - and a lovely pass for barnards goal. He just isn't getting the breaks in front of the goal atm. But the fact that we can still win 4-1 without Lambo scoring shows the amazing strength of this team
  25. Really enjoyed that, we were in control for the majority of the game. We started with a tempo and pushed them back at every oppertunity, as soon as they had the ball we harried them and eventually won the ball back and forced errors from them - time and time again, this method lead to our first goal v Barnard which was a brilliant finish. We played out the rest of the 1st half in control, we had a couple of dodgy moments but i didn''t ever feel too threatened by P'Boro. We started the 2nd half even quicker than the first, straight out of the blocks from the KO and before P'boro could even touch the ball, we'd made it 2-0 with a great header and one hell of a cross from Dickson. It was 3-0 shortly after when a terrific team move down the right, a terrific ball in by Hammond and a fantastic volley by Chaplow - a real class goal that. They got their consolation (sloppy bit of play from us) but we wrapped it up straight after with a good header from Guly. What stood out to me today was how impressive our full backs were, we looked so balanced down either flank and alot of the play was coming through them. Over the past few seasons we've been known to put makeshift right backs and left backs in there, but the real thing makes so much difference. Chappers was excellent, you're not going to find many better midfielders than him at this level he's terrific. Holmes was also very very good when he came on, showed a good turn on a couple of occasions and got an assist with an excellent cross so he's really pushed himself into the team now. To all those people doubting Jaidi...he was class today, you do not need to be a quick defender to deal with pace. All you need is intelligence and a positional sense about you and he had that in abundance today, looked like a total rock. Overall a very good win and you can see why P'boro concede as many as they do, they look a nice footballing team but as soon as they're pressured with a bit of guile and pace then they fall apart. Bring on brighton...
