lol. somehow i don't think we'll be spending a fee like that for a while!...and i dont think Charlton are in a position to ''Mull'' over an £8m fee!!!!
-
Sorry? Why do people have this opinion of JPS? It's probably because you watched the 2 poor games he had....Charlton at home for one. He had more succesfull games that not tbf and at L1 level he'd be ok. Ok - so he may not be as good as/better than Jaidi/Whitbred...but do people not realise that they haven't actually signed for us??? So surley JPS will be an improvement on what we have at the moment! He'd be a good addition - i'd sign him + Jaidi if possible.
-
Not bad i guess, nice to be at home - should be a decent game
-
Not him then, as we've ''agreed'' a fee for a midfielder...
-
Funny thread tbf. For what it's worth, i still believe it's Racon - simply because he offers everything Pard's is saying he would like through the team. We'll find out soon i guess.
-
You can understand if it is Christensen though. We're crying out for wide players, im not sure how good he is...but i guess we have to trust Pard's judgement. (if it comes off)
-
He did rate him IIRC, im sure i heard/read one of his interviews after he impressed in his early days at charlton
-
+1 hopefully the new guy coming in before Sat is a midfielder.
-
Suprise suprise. In a way i feel sorry for them, because this guy is moving from Pinnacle status to MJ status. It will never happen, he has not got the money, not a penny. i don't see why he doesn't just come out and end it?
-
If we show the ££££ then they will sell....and this is something we seem to be doing at the moment!
-
unfortunately, yep - he really stood out for me that day imo.
-
knew it. One of the signings on pards wish list when he joined.
-
We've got one in Holmes - but the issue is his fitness, was surprised he didn't feature tonight, even if it was for a couple of mins. The position we're crying out for some quality in is right midfield IMO. James was good tonight, but it would make so much difference to have a pacy right winger who can get to the byline and skin opponents. One of Leicester's main ploys last season was the pace down the right of Lloyd Dyer - that helped them get in behind teams and howard was on the spot most of the time to finish them off.

Who was the last Saints player to score on their debut?

Saints vs No'ton - FULL TIME (2-0, Lambert '29, Lallana '68)

I hope we have another case of ''wife pulling'' power here. She wants to stay in New Milton tbh. -

He came on and with his first touch set up Adam for the 2nd. Looked lively and committed, seemed willing to collect the ball rather than just standing around waiting for it. The way Pard's spoke on the radio - he's keen to keep him and hopefully we can persuade greg. -
Great turn out. Was a decent atmosphere too - if the club shows ambition then the fans will come back, there is a solid base of 20-22k.

Get down to the bookies and put your money on the next signing being Charlton s Theirry Racon. 1) - he didn't play in the carling cup tonight and is usually their first choice midfielder. 2) - pard's signed him as charlton manager and always spoke highly of him 3) - he was mentioned as a possible signing when pard's first took charge. just my opinion though, no Heinz.
-
TBH i cannot see him getting paid the same wage at Watford, so whatever happens he'll have to take a wage dip. AFAIK he's very settled in new Milton and his family love it there (who wouldn't?) - so i reckon we have a chance. He'd be great alongside lambert......jesus, it would even be prolific in the championship.
-
One player who DID NOT play tonight is Charlton s midfielder, Thiery Racon. - he is 99% of the time their first choice midfielder. Pard's signed as Charlton manager and he was also mentioned as a possible target when pard's joined us. Again to get him, we'd be looking at a fee of £1m upwards - but he's awsome. Scored that cracking goal against us at SMS last season. Maybe that's the plan, eventually sign up all the players who've scored against us Although tbf by now, that's nearly the entire football league.
-
He was v happy - was sat near the dug out and watched him mucking around and laughing during the first half. Although you prob can't read much into that tbh. I'd read more into the fact that he's now cup tied, could deter some clubs IMO.

Saints vs No'ton - FULL TIME (2-0, Lambert '29, Lallana '68)
S-Clarke replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
We played quite well. We didn't really have to move out of 1st gear in all honesty, i thought Northampton were woeful. Lambert looked great, he'll get even better once the players know how to use him. Some of his touches were great and the way he held the ball up and played the ball to the flanks was excellent. His goal was a typical brave strikers goal - very similar to a goal beattie would have scored and in many ways his game is similar to Beats. Next best player tonight was Adam IMO - he wasn't ''amazing'' but he seemed to hold his position much better than on saturday and actually attempted to get to the byline - which caused them problems. Quite excited by Pard's interview, more players in the pipe line - seems like the cheque book has been well and truly opened. All in all - comfortable and a nice confidence booster for us to go to Huddersfield with. P.S on a final note - im sure i saw someone in here mention ''Akenfenwa'' as a signing for us. Seriously???? I've never seen such a lumbering overweight player in my life....he brought a bit of comedy value to the game. -
http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1751000,00.html It looks like being a case of Poles apart for Southampton tonight as Rasiak returns but Saganowski misses out… Alan Pardew has stated his intention to name the strongest side available for this evening's 1st Round clash against Northampton Town and has been boosted by Rasiak's return to fitness.
-
I think '1' of the poles will stay. Read Pards comments in the echo tonight and TBF it doesn't sound like a manager who's preparing to lose both Poles. Something along the lines of : Lambert’s move means they now possess some real firepower and proven options in attack that can help push them up the league.''

Heard earlier that he's apparently still training with us? Also in the echo Pard's confirms the deal is not dead. I reckon he could still sign + another CB.
