  1. From what Bailey said on the other thread (that he was holding out for more money, but we wouldn't budge) then i think you may be right.
  2. How can he not receive a work permit, when he's been with Bolton and Brum for the past 6 seasons? Thought he would be too good to be true.
  3. Murty is so important to us this season - off the field too. He's got a positive vibe around him which drives success. You've got to be a pretty strong individual to lead a team to 108 points in the championship. So pleased we've signed him.
  4. Agreed. Makes more sense acting in this way at the moment, rather than signing a ''big name player'' for a ''big fee'' just to appease the fans. These guys don't work like that - which is why they're successful individuals. They build the blocks from the base and work upwards towards success. It may not always look as ''rapid'' as we want as fans, but i think we can be very positive for what the future holds. If the ''foundation'' is laid correctly, then success will always follow.
  5. :smt003 ...although he probably would be ''ok'' at this level tbf.
  6. The BBC have got the rights to screen 10 live Championship games next season - no League 1 or League 2 unfortunately ...but there's a 1 hour highlights show which follows MOTD every Saturday night which will cover all the leagues and goals. No more waking up early on a Sunday....
  7. It'll be fine. According to Bailey (Always spot on) he's training with the squad at the mo anyway (he was introduced to them yesterday), I'd guess it will either be announced later today....or tomorrow AM.
  8. Apparently he's done his knee. Could be out for anywhere between 4-6 months. ...oh and Plymouth could only manage a 0-0 draw with Hearts at home.
  9. That is EXACTLY the same email i received from them, when i queried my login details. Since then I've had another 6 replies from them, which all completely miss the point - they're now saying ''they cannot find my account'' and they're asking me to create a brand new subscription and pay again for the new service. utter farce - they've lost me as a customer anyway.
  10. Good news.....and slightly off topic - any news on maybe a striker before saturday?
  11. Palace wanted him apparentley, but they were hit by a transfer embargo!
  12. It was comments off a brum forum when they found out he wasn't being offered a new deal
  13. Before Midday on Friday i think...
  14. some brum comments.... He sounds perfect for us, and this league.
  15. This has just come up on the Sky Sports transfer update page... ''10.36 Free agent Radhi Jaidi looks set to join Southampton as reports suggest he has passed a medical at St Mary's.'' Not sure if this is based on ''Sky Sources'' or they're just rehashing the news from yesterday.
  16. http://www.southlondonpress.co.uk/tn/Sport.cfm?id=30544&headline=Stern%20John%20hits%20back%20at%20Saints%20boss%20Pardew Sounds fairly agreed from last years ''push out'' and you can kind of understand it. Not so sure about his comments about us ''never sorting a deal out properly'' though - maybe he was just being pushed by his greedy agent to demand more?
  17. Agree, he does look too good...but you never know? Looks exactly the type of striker we need - and Pards does have a nack of being able to get some v highly rated young players. He signed Yasin Moutawakil for Charlton a couple of seasons ago, right from under the noses of Villa and Everton. Nothing wrong with a bit of idle speculation anyway!
  18. An interesting bit of speculation, no idea if it will turn out to be true or not...was posted on 606 (not by RocketSwannie either...) http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A55306334 He currently plays for Brann in Norway and is 24 years old - can play down the flanks or as a front man. Check out this youtube vid of him... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7U9tcnhpvkE&feature=related
  19. Don't think so. They've mentioned that on the twitter just below, i guess both deals have been finalised tonight and will be formally announced tomorrow AM. Same happened with Pardew iirc.
  20. not much, mentioned us in passing for about 5 seconds. Was mainly focused on MK Dons and Tranmere as they had Paul Ince and John Barnes on the line.
  21. A lucky escape then.
  22. Torres is injury prone tbh - i'd rather have Lambert.
  23. I'm not sure why people keep writing Perry off, just because he's 36. He was one of our main players last year and he's very fit. As someone said above, playing Perry (the calm/composed centre half, who can play it out) alongside Jhadi (the tough tackling, big beast of a centre back) will be the makings of a rock solid defense at L1 level IMO.
  24. morgan schneiderlin was played as a CB in one of JP's games too - also (quite amazingly), they were also planning on playing Jake Thompson there as we had a few injuries (that's not a joke either, as they were trying him out at CB in reserve games) Thank god that regime is over.
  25. Sounds like it's progressing well!! AP looks like he wants to fill the team with vocal experienced leaders - we'll be fine if he does this. (Murty and Jhadi is an awesome start)
