  1. FT 6-1 Scorers - OG...Molly, White, Wotton, Olly Lancashire, Mills worrying bit in the middle of the write up though... Concern was raised on 64 minutes when Mills went down on half way which left the youngster needing treatment. The left sided player was able to return to the action but was later (as in 2 mins later) replaced by Academy prospect Garyn Preen. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/ReservesNews/0,,10280~1790386,00.html
  2. Yep. ''The 2004/5 campaign started slowly for Lallana however as he required surgery to correct an irregular heart-beat - a condition discovered during the medical examination that followed a first call-up for the England Under 17 squad.''
  3. One thing alot of people seem to forget about Lallana, is that he was diaganosed with a heart condition at about 16/17 - i think he still has to have checkups. He was close to actually quitting the game because of it...so cut him a bit of slack. But he's not been too bad this season at all IMO - he's put in 100% pretty much every-game, but when we play like we did on Saturday (HOOF) then he's just played out of the game and becomes ineffective (not his fault at all) When we grow as a team and develop a pattern to our play, he will be integral in it.
  4. I think Henderson will now focus on the acadamy and reserves full time. It seems as if Downes / Wilkins / Murdoch have come in as just first team coaches...leaving the likes of henderson to retreat back to the academy. Hopefully we can recruit some more people in that area too - we've never replaced Prost and i don't think we've really got a proper youth development manager. I know Matt Crocker is part of that...but im not sure if he's full time anymore.
  5. Maybe because we had to work pretty hard to get him, and put up alot of $$$$$$$ - i don't think he'll come cheap after playing top level serie A football. I must admit i'm nervous about the hype of someone we've not seen yet...but i'm slightly more at ease after the comments from Italian based fans/Senegalese fans.
  6. It's as good a setup as we've had for a long time. That's why im so pleased we made a clean slate from last season, although they gave their all for us in the end - Killer / Wotte and Gore do not compete with the likes of Pards / Wilkins / Downes/ Murdoch for their knowledge of this level. Much better, a win should be coming our way soon - followed by a stretch of them once these guys make their mark. If people like Wally Downes cannot get these players responding and performing then we're a lost cause to be frank.
  7. another one there too didn't know he'd scored against Juve twice!
  8. Let me tell you - this is an awesome appointment. ''Wally'' was one of the pivotal figures in readings record breaking season. the reading lads loved him, he was part of the amazing team spirit they had together - he was part of their celebrations when they scored quite a lot of the time. Think of him as a character similar to Glynn Snodin, who i also thought was a huge loss for us. (i can assure you that he has had a big impact in leeds current form...) He's an extremely infectious character and specialises in the defensive side of the game - another reason why reading have been so tight in defense (even when they were in the premiership). This is a huge signing for us IMO - another top appointment by Pards.
  9. Pards did say in one of his interviews after lambert arrived. (something like this -) ''we could have signed a young striker for a similar kind of fee, but we felt this was the better option''
  10. I think you can? kind of like a gentlemans agreement between the clubs. Not sure if its changed, but Wolves did this sort of deal for Kightly a few years back. 3 month loan with an option to buy in jan iirc.
  11. ITK ? this is how wolves got kightly fwiw
  12. I probably didn't illustrate it perfectly, but what that formation will bring is the wingers and adam all into the attack, getting into the box from Lambos flicks. If it's played right, and players are disciplined in their positions - then lambert wouldn't be isolated IMO.
  13. We shouldn't be, but if we don't get that win soon we could find oruselves 15/16 points adrift! we're all a little twitchy at the moment...it's not a great situation. Please saints...just get winning again and let us all sleep easy for once!
  14. TBH if we get relegated to L2 with the squad we have, then Pard's will have quite frankly failed beyond our wildest dreams. -10 or not, we should not be relegated with the resources and squad we have available.
  15. Lisbie was quality and exactly the sort of player we were crying out for up front! Tricky, Nimble, pacy....we were just cumbersome if im honest.
  16. great view of the game, spot on IMO.
  17. I think in a way it's just because they're learning the team, im sure they'll get better...but i did think it was pretty galling what he said, seeing as he was a hero for them in all honesty.
  18. We should be expecting and achieving so much more IMO. Our budget and players should not be competing with Carlisle, Tranmere, Exeter...that's not a big headed comment, but it would be a severe **** up of of all proportions if we did get relegated. We shouldn;t be anywhere near come the end...i still stand by that. but we need to start winning soon....as im getting very nervous.
  19. He played it with the wrong players with no tactical discipline. we didn't have a natural right winger and we didn't have an out and out goal scorer. It was just a bunch of attacking minded players running around with no attacking discipline. - that was pretty much it.
  20. It doesn't matter though,we need points in our situation, not plaudits or good performances. That's the truth. I love seeing us play well, but we need wins on the board now. Otherwise we're ****ed. I'm just worried that 1 or 2 of our players aren't cut out for this ''battle''.
  21. No one is saying Pard's should be sakced - no one. I don't see where people are getting this from. I don't want him sacked...he needs time. but you cannot accuse people of worrying and expecting a little more....it's ambition, IMO - something alot of our fans lack.
  22. There will come a time when the words ''a win will come - it's coming together - we're playing well, a win is not long away'' will become hollow and worthless, as we see our team slip 20 points from safety. Whatever anyone says, a double relegation would be unthinkable - how can the club recover quickly from that? We'd end up being gutted again next year. - that is what is staring in our face at the moment people, make no doubt about it. i didn't believe it would be, but the table is scary. I'm one of the positive outlook ones, i honestly believed we would get these -10 over quickly, but we haven't. FWIW i still believe we'll be ok in the end, but you cannot really accuse people of panicking in what is an intensively worrying situation.
  23. How is he crap? How on earth can you say he can't pass? seriously? are you confusing him with Wotton or something? bizzare.
  24. I think alot of it is down to the players nerves/pannicing - as they want a win, so just hoof it as quick as they can. As you saw, in games where we had no pressure on us (brum/n'hampton) we played it around well and didn't hoof it. It's a mental thing, which will only be overcome by winning a bloody league game...and i bet you our first win will be a very scrappy one.
  25. Agree, it would only work if lallana was disciplined in that role. He 'shouldn't have to drop deep because Hammond and Morgan will cover that role. Probably didn't illustrate it well enough, but i did mean to show Mills and Papa pushed right right up I honestly think that's the way we should play at the moment. Adam does not work on the right or left - just unbalances the team.
